i would always nod approvingly AND enviously at your bicycles 🫡
to clarify some more, you’re saying that you’re building a cargo bike!?

mine will be more of a radavist poser type but there’s some lore already on my thread.
we clearly need an offworld.atb cargo bike neighbourhood gravel outing

Have been heeding some of your advice, the road bike will most definitely get the axe in the next week or so. But, have started getting garvel biek alive again as I should now maybe have some more time and better weather to get out on it again. Will give me better perspective on whether to get rid or not. The wheels have got some fresh tape, valves, and sealant, was actually very unproblematic, good stuff. The bike shop is gonna have to see to the slightly seized on rear hub and the hydraulic brakes cos I do not have the facilities (mental, physical, nor technological) for that shit.
And more exciting yet! Slapped a crate from some fancy schmancy cheese we’ve got in at work on to the front rack on the fixie today at the end of my shift. Functionality with a middle class twist.

well, i hired an omnium from Paradise today, big fun, big cool.
One spin around the park on the front after I did a little run to the recycling centre to get rid of some garden waste and my gf was sold on the idea of owning one.
Am I going to get one immediately? Probably not. We’re thinking a size S could be a reasonable size compromise for both us to use, will have to test this as I’m not too sure how it would work in practice. I’m 175cm tall and she’s 158cm, so bit of a difference… More compromise on her end than mine, but she’s more up-for it in theory than I am haha. I’ll ask at Paradise tomorrow if they have an S she can try.
Was so fun whipping around on though, such genius little handy machines. There’s definitely one in me future that’s fo sure.
Don’t ask me what mental gymnastics I’ve come to the following conclusion; but I’ve now decided I need to flat bar the Kepler. This urge is unshakeable and must be fulfilled.

Do get one I really don’t think you’ll regret it
it would make a great current projects thread -

you can have the kyote from my shed in exchange of a pastry

@Marcootsee I don’t recognise the logo on the bar but here’s a pic! sorry for awful lighting…
@samrensho i think we will to be honest, if we try an S and see realistic potential in making it work for both us then it’s pretty much a dead cert. It would be a cool thread to run as we figured it out.
@amey ha! You’ve got yourself a deal. Any deore RDs, shifters, and levers mingling around that shed as well?

Wish I had done this. There has been times where my partner has wanted to use our Omnium but I got a size L and there's just no way she'd be able to ride it safely.
Given you don't need a sporty long fit on these bikes, It's a lot easier to ride one that's small rather than big. -

Wish I had done this.
+1, if i had know my silly car project costs were going to be spiral i would have given an S Omnium a lot more consideration for me and my gf to use as car replacement.
@ojwithbits feel the same about a lot of riding these days. A chill fixie, flat-bar Kepler and Omnium would be dream project 3 for me right now.

Your ideas are all coalescing around the #basketbike life.

defo have grips and possibly cassette to, all yours whenever you want to collect
and saddle

@PhilDAS yeah that’s what we’re thinking, though my partner should technically be on an XS according to Omnium sizing, so hopefully the size-up won’t be too much of an issue with some tinkering. One of those lever-actuated dropper posts or just a simple old school QR seat clamp (though way to easy for someone just pull out the seat post and walk off), one of those weird adjustable height stem things, some back swept bars, maybe it’d be okay
@jono84 hahah aw man the car does look great though! The needs and wants never end do they
@exteroceptive Utility is the new going fast
(… i never went fast)@amey will ping you a pm

Dropper is definitely the way. I wouldn't bother with an adjustable stem. All my bikes have got a decent amount of drop from saddle to bars but the omnium is basically level and it's quite easy for someone shorter to ride with higher bars. You can just sit more upright on it which I actually find is beneficial to handling with a load on the front. I'd set the bars and reach so it's comfortable for your partner and then just put the saddle up and ride it as is for yourself.

It's mostly just about arriving at your destination without a sweaty back!

no one asked for this, nor is it necessary as there’s not much of a reveal or anticipation to build, however here we are.
flat bar conversion Kepler AKA fixie inspired city nipper AKA tracklopacking-esque without the prerequisite penchant for suffering AKA two-wheeled locus of quarter-life crisis and associated milieu mood board

rate the connoisseur grip choice, but did someone have to talk you into the colour? 🤔
a project without a moodboard in the year of the lord is simply illegal? thanks for including my bike!

I'm hyped

the connoisseur grip choice
I beg to differ

Mr Bradley, I concur you should get an Omnium, then you can give me a lift.

@launchpadboi hey hey hey, all my choice! fun n cute ennit. And yeah your bike is aspirational, especially weight wise, picking it up is surprising, definitely won’t be attaining those levels.
@kjlem thank you 🫡 should be a doozy and done in the next two weeks or so, the hype will meet its end soon hopefully
@PhilDAS my man-child hands ache just looking at em
@rosskenttt you own all the bikes, it’s only a matter of time till you buy one and slap some silly enve or titanium shit on one

They have regular chunky also
i think for me it’s definitely the latter, i’m basically just fishing for nods at the old kent road stoplights.
