  • Lovely! Which bars are those?

  • I have just had this delivered from Decathlon second life to flat bar it for nursery runs with a ride along.

It’s super twitchy, has had a carbon repair making it a 27.2 seatpost and has a squeaky bottom bracket.

The project plans are now send it back.

  • This was one of the reason I wanted this frameset in this colour wave.

This is definitely a form over function bike as these are single pivot system. That said the braking on these wheelset have been amazing so far, but I can image on aluminium rims it would be much better.

There have been a lot of stories with the underside of the brakes jamming in raining and muddy conditions with these TRP type brakes. Probably the reason why this never took off with other manufacturers.

  • I am this close to start a crowdfunder to get you a disc brake bike for the sake of your child

  • Gf says no more bikes, one in one out.

Also as long as it is a Look I’m game.

  • What's the problem with a 27,2 seatpost?

  • Nothing on bikes designed for them.

    Shims slip.

The main issue with the 27.2 is it wasn’t advertised as such. And the bottom bracket Qc is far from ideal.

  • Cheap generic silver 25,4 riser, something la IP component

  • For a second I thought you cut the nose off of the saddle.

  • Enjoying this currently. Old groupset on this is nice and familiar and the crabonz from @coffeekeyboard are very fun indeed 🤓

  • I've recently had the very friendly and talented Ande @M_V convert my 2003 Lemond Poprad 853 from canti to disc. Time to build it up!

  • new mudguards, lights, saddle, @Hulsroy bottle cage, @Tijmen bag and an extra rack stay

  • For some reason I have two drop-bar fixie projects on the go at the minute. This one needs a longer chain so I can fit wider tyres but otherwise I’m super happy with it.

  • Nice match bartape/shifters

  • That's nice. Loving that stem on this build for some reason

  • Great frame. Looks pretty tight for a fixed-road.

  • Just built this up, which will be my nice weather summer bike for this year. Running Chorus 9 speed group with Record levers and Record ti wheels.

    Not finalised the seatpost/stem positioning.

I have to decide on bar tape colour and cable outers - thinking white, but black would look better with the shifters, and white gets mucky anyway. There’s also some pretty nice colours on the paint which might match up ok.

    Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed.

Thanks to @Fishfabs for the sweet wheels!

  • Love the frameset. What is it, SLX?

  • Blue? Something between white and black that isn’t pink or grey or…

  • This, or something like this might work..?

@abr yes slx - never ridden it before. Frame is a bit small really but I've got t-rexy proportions. Interested to see how it rides.

  • Thought about blue, or red as well...not sure though. I tend to go for the plain options with finishing bits.

  • Lovely frame! Dark blue, for sure. Or dark red to match the red highlights.

  • Nice build! I would go bland on tape/housing and choose black to make the frame stand out
