There’s this one

I had a day off so thought I’d spend it sorting a bit more of the outside space.
Shortened the raised beds a little bit to get the fruit nets up. Still need to plant one up so I haven’t assembled it yet. I think I’ll knock some posts in to steady them up as they are a little (all hella) bendy in the wind.

I also had a little sort out and trial of the flooring for the kitchen. I scored a load of pavers from a neighbour, so I’m hoping there’s enough to do it all. Need to steal some sand from somewhere now. This is supposed to be a found items only project, other than the pizza oven that is. I think I’ll be okay. Fingers crossed 🤞

I think there are another 50 whole pavers to collect and around 60 1/2 ones so I think we are good to go. I also rescued a marble island top that was on its way to a skip.

That's quite a score all in and is looking really good.
The marble will be really practical for an outdoor kitchen too.

Thank you.
On my way back from work I can’t ride past a skip. It’s an affliction. -

I made the mistake of fully explaining what I hope to achieve around that bit of garden. Liz has now been researching summer houses, because the MiL has always wanted one. In principle this is sort of ok and would work pushed right into the corner, but I suspect what I what from a garden room and what a 76 year old wants from a summer house are VERY different. Oh well on wards.

How did you know what I want?

I’ve only recently started visiting this part of the forum, so missed the bit you started last year. Looking good. Impressive size garden there. Did you sell the rod?
-

Hey Jon, yeah we have just over 1/3 of an acre. The summer we moved in I cleared a bit that was thick with brambles and in turned out to be bigger than our first garden!
Not sold Tetanus yet, I put one ad up on the MSVA build forum, but that’s it. I need to actually try to sell it properly. I need the garage space for my woodshop. If you are still active in the scene put the word out ;) -

I haven’t had anything to do with that scene for many years!

Snap.

I got in from work yesterday to discover a present waiting for me. It’s as ugly as all sin, but it only took an hour to pop down some slabs and put it together. It does mean I can start sorting out the shed for repurposing.

Well done, rounding up that wild lawn mower.

Nice thread, just found and read through it. Love the 'found items only' idea.

Cheers for the kind words.
Today I’ve started to clear behind the shed. I’ve found about 40 roof tiles and whole load of crap, which is nice. Slowly slowly…

I got a tiny bit more done this morning, before there was a plumbing emergency which took far too long to fix. Still a step forward is a step nearer to finishing. I also found this buried under the weeds, well I saw it yesterday and pulled it out earlier, so that’s cool. Liz tidied up the bit out the front where I’d stored the pavers so even more win.

Cheers, but careful what you wish for 😂

I moved some more stuff out of the shed when I got in. It’s fair to say it has seen better days!

Indeed 😬
Episode 2 season 1 finished.
Posts in, double wire up, rails fixed, gate latched, hung and the bottom filled in. And Dolly, aka Houdini is loose, 5mins in and so far she’s still in the garden, a new record.
Next faze, remove the shed, finish the fence behind it, carry on with the kitchen bit. Then turn the old vaulting horse into a herb bed.
