"An exclusive poll for The Sun..."
Yeah nah
-
• #3
Surely a single policy election. Continue ULEZ or scrap it?
-
• #4
Until Sunak revokes national legislation,
ULEZ is not optional. -
• #5
Khan will win by miles of the Tories try to turn it into a single issue campaign on air pollution. Unsurprisingly, the majority of Londoners consistently support it.
-
• #6
Oh no, people who don't like my politics might not vote for me!
It has led to concern in Khan’s team that, despite his large poll lead, Liberal Democrat and Green voters will be unaware that they can no longer back him as their second preference, as many have done in the past.

Tell your friends and neighbours, Susan Hall's middle name is 'Nouseat'.

Susan "tear out havoc causing cycle lanes" Hall.

“The other thing that nobody seems to bring up, which is so important when we have gridlock streets, is how do we expect our emergency services to get through?"
Blue Lights and Sirens always seem to do the job here.

Read some interesting analysis on Twitter about Sadiq recently pandering to the Rightwing car lobby by saying that he wouldn't introduce road pricing or any other measures to tackle motor traffic in the next term.
Its a massive false economy, those pollutionheads in the outer boroughs hate him, nothing will really change that, even if he cancels ULEZ, they wont vote for him. But what this does is upset his voting core and expansion into the green vote, people will think he's weak and vote green. -
• #12
Is there (national) legislation to allow road pricing?
I'm unfortunately surrounded by ULEZ-sceptics, who seem to be following a script to claim 'road pricing/charge per mile' is 'the next step'.When I point out they are contentedly paying per mile to the oil companies, they don't have a retort.

I can't believe Lozza isn't a details guy

Some recycled jokes in here:
Maybe he should rename himself Count Recycling Binface?
-
• #15
Actually, they're re-*used* jokes, but unfortunately there are very few, if any, reuse bins.

• #16
Why isn't this being more widely publicised?! Also I thought Londoners voted for the transferable vote system.
-
• #17
Happy to see No. 20 re-used.

• #18
Johnson administration reverted to FPTP the try and negate tactical voting,
i.e., Green then Labour.I don't think I've ever previously seen an election go backwards,
to a less progressive voting system, like this before -
• #19
I thought Londoners voted for the transferable vote system
I don't remember there being a vote. There was a national vote on AV vs FPTP a while ago, and from what I remember of it then much of the press was focused on AV not being as good as STV, rather than AV being better than FPTP. So it ended up getting trounced
-
• #20
Yeah I remember that one. The messaging was crap. It could've been actually something good to come out of the coalition.
-
• #21
I'm surprised/dismayed there isn't more press, more discussion, more something. I've seen a few posters about bringing ID, but nothing about the changing system.
Isn't Green then Labour the opposite of tactical voting? It's voting for who you really want first, then who you'll tolerate second. Rather than the tactical voting of FPTP which is vote for whoever is mostly likely to stop the one you really hate.

• #22
So is khan gonna get in again for another 5 years or what ever it is?
-
• #23
As an environmentalist, I have to accept that the Green candidate is (currently) not going to be elected Mayor of London. Boosting the votes total for the Mayoral candidate hopefully suggests to those wavering to vote Green for the London-wide Assembly members.
-
• #24
Nick Clegg got out-manouvred by his Tory coalition 'partners'. The option we were allowed to vote on would have given elected members of the revised Upper House 15 year terms. The revised Upper House was never meant to be a retirement home for failed/aged politicians.

Manifesto bumph came through the mail today.
The fucking state of some of these people.
Saw this poll today and thought we needed a thread on this.

I find it hard to believe the Khan’s lead is so small, especially given how crap Susan Hall is, but then I think Khan has been a piss poor mayor so maybe it isn’t so surprising.
