On the subject of spectacle frames, were you aware that nearly all of the designer frames you can avail yourself of these days, are in the hands of one Italian company - my Austrian Silhouette frames being one of the few exceptions. (probably eligible for 'overheard in the golf club' thread)

Algha Works 1932 -2020, Fish Island. Eye wear manufacturer of choice for many a musician and film star, and the iconic ubiquitous NHS glasses of the 60-70s.
