A bit late but MRI isn't too much private. Dr James noakes at pure sports is very good.

No worries 👍

How was Wilmslow for you? Hope it went well.
I ran there (7.5m) in the end (sort of time saving) and then ran at Marathon effort for most of it then pushed on at the end. 1h23 andabit I am very happy with that.

I enjoyed it, took it pretty steady. I was going to tag on some at the end but my damn alphaflys are causing some pain on a bone on the inside of my foot so thought I’d call it a day. I’ve decided a new pair of super shoes is the only solution.
1:36, was a bit quicker than potential MP for a 3:15, I felt it in the second half; I might have to dial back expectations to 3:20ish.
My biggest fear is my longest run 5 weeks prior to marathon, is it too big a gap?

MRIs are £500
I don’t wanna spend that tbh -

n+1 time I found the Asics Metaspeed good today fwiw.

Sounds sensible.

It's the gap you have... filling it next weekend with a 20miler could add fatigue but with a more tapery taper after might help with confidence?

Managed a sub 40 10k today after doing the forum approved 10k plan. Thanks @doubleodavey for sharing. Enjoyed doing some fast stuff after a couple of years of marathon training. Have Valencia now in December unsure of what to do next...

unsure of what to do next
18:30 5k?
Stick with getting faster for a bit, plenty of time left for a marathon training block
-
• #30089
That's very specific! But sounds like a good plan. My current 5k time is 19:16 so I reckon that's doable. How long do you reckon until I book a 5k in?

Congrats on breaking 40 mins!
Not going to provide any specific advice but working on 5k time is a good shout.

I think I'll have a heavy weekend but split it over the 2 days, something a bit faster on the sat and long/ easy on the Sunday as away in south wales and its not too flat.
I tried on the new Metaspeed after the half yesterday and they felt nice with the added bonus of not rubbing where the alphas did, they are out on Weds so I will have enough time to put some miles in before the big day.
Nailed my day before nutrition now, I managed a long run without needing a shit for the first time in ages yesterday.

Is there any hive intel on where is good to go to watch someone for the London marathon? Like are some places better than others / is it a good idea to cycle around? Cheers

Where can I find this 10k plan?

If it's a faster and paved course you're after, I'd definitely recommend Barking or the Royal Docks Parkruns which aren't too far away.

Poplar high street. Take your pick of sides for sustinance, Tesco metro on one side, greasy spoon cafe on the other. It's about the 20.5 mile mark, so everyone is starting to look a bit more focused.
Narrow street is my 2nd favourite spot

Nice! Yeah Barking is a doddle to get to on foot from where I am. Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone want a set of Alphalfy 3's in UK 10.5? RRP is £284.99
Bought two pairs for size and this is surplus to requirements. If not, will send back for refund.

First run of the year in shorts. Up the valley and back through the local woods, past a very unfussed urban fox, blossom on the trees, birds tweeting all around, and squirrels scampering across the path. Lovely.
I cropped it from a wider picture on Instagram, JK's expression behind is priceless. I'll try find original
