funnily enough, splashing of water is one of my favourite things. I did Great Cornard (i think) parkrun on christmas day with one of my 9 year olds, and I was teaching him how to splash people you are racing against. His first attempt wasn't great, so I showed him, and he ate quite a bit of the puddle. Oh how we (I) laughed. And I beat him in a sprint finish to make it 8-0 to me.
Your dog is almost certainly faster than my kids - and me come to think of it
I'd forget how intensely the hatred burns in my soul for when I'm running in the rain and I step in a puddle which splashes a load of water up in the air so it perfectly hangs in the exact point that I'll drag the top of my toe box of my other shoe through it mid-air on my next step instantly soaking the entire front of my shoe for the rest of the run. every. fucking. time.
w2 d1 of C25k done though and the rain kept most of the dickheads indoors so was fairly quiet out there.
only 4 sets of 3x min jog,3 min recovery but carrying 128kg that feels like plenty. third and fourth intervals in each run are the hardest but in the past I always felt the same for the first couple of miles anyways so not sure if just not going long enough yet for my body to settle into it.
dog was slowing a little on the second half of our runs but we had his coat trimmed short yesterday and he was much better today, will keep him nice and trimmed through the summer if he's gonna keep running with me too. we're not carrying water at the moment as it's not enough to warrant it but we pass a water bowl about halfway round the loop i take and he never wants to drink anything so I think he's fine. once we get going a bit longer I'll chuck the running vest on and just look like the slowest try-hard ever so i can carry fluids for us both.
