  • I have a pretty basic electric grinder, that has been replaced with a ROC grinder.
I didn’t want to fork out for nice electric grinder when I could spend a lot less and get as good or better grind quality.
Unless the daughters grow up to be espresso aficionados I doubt I’ll ever need the added capacity of an electric grinder

  • I went from a Baratza to a Kinu hand grinder (and now a 1zpresso too). Sometimes it's annoying, especially when dialling in some wild new espresso. Ignoring any taste/value arguments, the quietness & saved counterspace far outweigh that annoyance when talking about overall quality of life.

  • As someone new to hand grinders, really enjoying the Aergrind. Fits in the aeropress so really easy to take on hikes / bikes etc too.

I'm not taste expert, but I "think" it's a nicer coffee than the electric one I briefly had.

  • I’m once again considering dual boiler machines.
Hoffman does a good review but many of the machines I’m thinking of not included

  • Edit: Found it

My Google-fu is failing me/I'm at work, can anyone find a manual for this coffee grinder please? Or more specifically if there is any way to adjust the dose without just single dosing

(Also please ignore the hopper full of ground coffee, it was like that when I got here)

  • From memory the dose is preset. They are also super unreliable at maintaining the same dose each time.

  • It looks like there should be a way of lifting up the doser tray which should then adjust the amount. I'm not expecting superb accuracy but right now it's way under so the puck is super soggy and over extracted

  • Assuming you know this but for straight gear reviews, the sheer number of videos from Lance or Sprometheus are hard to compete with.

  • Im sold! Trigger pulled on ZP6 :) fully manual here we come.

@Nef will probably let the niche go for 350 +postage if youre still interested. Less than 2 years old and used had maybe 15kg through it. Will get some pics up here tomorrow but it looks like a Niche, will come with the box and all the gubbins

  • Am in a fairly similar situation, except I only drink espresso and after 4 years the hand grinding is getting old, especially since my girlfriend has gone decaf during pregnancy. Very close to pulling the trigger on a DF54...

  • I’ll take the niche if it’s still going..

Been after one for ages, always miss out on here!

  • According to a lance hedrik video I watched, the flat burr conical burr thing doesn't really apply to hand grinders because of their low.rpm. I have a timemore 64s and I wouldn't say the flat burr really plays a big role in filters vs my k max. Maybe if I had the filter only burrs it would be a bit clearer but it's really splitting hairs at this point.

  • I got my Niche Zero out of the cupboard and I’m using it for espresso again- Niche Duo I’ll probably put the filter coffee burrs in.

  • Burr design plays a more important role than flat vs cone. Hoffmans latest video showed that the Niche Zero conicals have exactly the same grind profile as the Duos espresso burrs, despite those being flat

  • I oscillate between Synchronika and the Lelit Bianca v3

  • I can’t comment on the Synchronika, but I’ve had a Bianca for five years now and it’s been flawless in daily use. The ability to manually control flow is great and I use it every time I pull a shot. The wooden knobs are lovely too.

  • Ask @Turkish to flip a coin as to who gets it? Lol
    I call heads…

  • Well, ended up pulling the trigger on the DF54… Looking forward to a quicker grind (especially the very fine decaf) and some nerding out/comparing with the JX-Pro.

If all works out as expected there might be a JX Pro going spare toward end of March/beginning of April…!

  • 2 Early 4 dibs? :-)

  • Apologies, Ed got in with the dm for local pickup. Will resort to posting if that falls through and let you know

  • Cash is king and postage is a pain, can’t fault you for that :)

  • took the lid off the coffee machine to see if the reservoir needed topping up before i made my second coffee.

Notes of web silk and dead bluebottle?

  • Sorry if i slid in under you!

You can have first dibs if i don’t like it!

  • You can collect and pay cash - I can’t compete with that :)
    I’ll take that dibs tho!
