  • I figured someone would say this and your point is totally understandable and valid - I could be wrong with my doubts, but the evidence suggests otherwise. Indeed, every culture, nation, empire etc. has its bad apples (to put it mildly), but that's not quite what I meant and there's a context to it too.

I'm basing this on my academic studies, knowledge, experience and close proximity to the Arab and Muslim world, including the extreme groups that have surfaced therein. As odd and ridiculous as it may sound to you, there are certain behaviors that are unheard of, typically end up discredited upon investigation, or don't even make it to the exaggerated local wives rumours - even when raping, pillaging and killing occurs and has been justified by the assailants.

So to me, some (but not all) of these witness accounts sound like your typical carelessly constructed, BS accounts that unfortunately, many on this side of the world will easily believe without question, thanks to their ignorance and lack of nuance, and thanks to the different forms Muslim terrorist stereotypes and bogeymen that have been erected.

Also, let's not forget that we've seen videos of Israeli soldiers wearing Hijabs and pretending to be Palestinian Doctors/nurses, claiming with thick, pharyngal, Hebrew accents (unlike Levantine Arabic) that Hamas have a base or took over their hospital.

It's pretty darn easy to fake anything these days. And with a propaganda machine like Israel, my skeptical hat is firmly on my head.

  • videos of Israeli soldiers wearing Hijabs and pretending to be Palestinian Doctors/nurses, claiming in Arabic with their thick, pharyngal, Hebrew accents (unlike Levantine Arabic) that Hamas have a base or took over their hospital.

I recall an assassination where the Israeli hit team dressed as medical staff to kill a few hospitalised, alleged Hamas fighters (who were asleep, but I digress). I haven’t seen or heard of a video with what you’re mentioning.

  • Oh it was so bad it was laughable. Audio analysis found it used the same sound bite for all the background explosions (smh), some English words were pronounced in a very 'Israeli' way, and even the Arabic phrases were considered not from Palestinian vernacular.

Edit: Here's a clip where it was analysed and debunked. Can't say I expected it from France24: https://www.france24.com/en/tv-shows/truth-or-fake/20231115-video-of-nurse-denouncing-hamas-occupation-of-al-shifa-hospital-in-gaza-is-fake

  • Wtf? Pramila Patten didn't write this. It's made up. If it's IN the report, QUOTE THE REPORT instead of quoting a conspiracy theory tweet. Wtf is wrong wih you? Are you 11 years old? Do you just hate jews?

And wtf is wrong with the other posters who have accepted this garbage?

  • It's got to be the stupidest self-own I've ever seen. You say you've read parts of the report, and you even link to it, but you make no attempt to find the bits in the tweet from "Norman Finkelstein". It's pathetic.

  • I'll just repeat the shameful drivel you posted: "UN Special Representative Pramila Patten states in her report" that the digital evidence "DIDN'T YIELD ONE SINGLE IMAGE OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE".

So I ask again, what the fuck is wrong with you? Are you a big fan of Andrew Tate? An anti-semite? A moron?

  • @Velocio please read this https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17316713/ @infmz is spreading the lie that Hamas didn't rape anyone in the attack on Oct 7.

  • Download the pdf here https://www.un.org/sexualviolenceinconflict/

Read point 10 and others with many claims being unfounded. Want the links? There seems to be no interviews with people attacked or those there, for whatever reason. But the non broad forward and excuses seem odd. Read the bits about the non Israeli who there is proof of rape and sexual assault by the israelis

If the bodies are that burnt I understand the lack of evidence, but the claims of decapitation and bodies chopped up seems to have been a lie. As no bodies found like that.

Where is your proof of the lies?

  • Oh FFS. You can read and you have internet access. I'm not going to try to teach you how to be a human being. Just fuck off and live your stupid life.

  • Lies. I never said that. Clearly you have a reading and comprehension problem lol. Your childish rage is proving my point.

  • I will my life with balance, I have linked to the report and read it.

What points have I made an error? What points have that chap on twitter that were wrong? As so far, Israeli propaganda on beheaded babies and the unwra are lies.

  • He's a well known Jewish academic whose parents were survivors.of the holocaust.

    your scare quotes are...telling.

  • It's so easy to disprove what was tweeted that anyone who believes it must be an anti-semite or an infant.

This thread has become a home for conspiracy cunts, so I'll ignore it.

  • not the point I was making, but sure, you keep swinging champ

  • Lmao. Says the one who instead of being able to engage amicably and challenge arguments factually, instead stretches what we say (while crying to admins), is weaponising and accusing others of anti-semitism baselessly, and goes on a childish cursing spree attacking individuals and not arguments.

You sound like a disgraced, whored-out Talk TV host.

    Bye.

  • so easy to disprove what was tweeted that anyone who believes it must be an anti-semite or an infant.

Given the report is from the UN, and what it says supports the tweet.

Given the tweet is from a Jewish political scientist and Holocaust researcher.

Given that we're in a war and everyone is using disinformation and propaganda.

Given that the very tactic used by Zionists and the state of Israel is to declare everyone who dares question their invasionary force to be an anti-Semite.

Your posts here stand out, and reasonable people are pointing out that there's no conclusive information either way, none of us were there, and yet the neutral third party charged with documenting this states there's no evidence of this, and you're throwing your toys out of your pram whilst calling others infants and anti-Semites.

This is quite some bs from you TBH

  • I have difficulty understanding how you could potentially interview somebody who was killed. You need an independent autopsy to define the horrors they experienced. I don't trust neither party as disinformation is spread by both. Unfortunately UN is useless. The only thing I know is that if my area was attacked I would be taking my children to somewhere safe from an active war zone. If it requires walking then so be it.

  • The UN is useless.

It's not a very high bar, but when everyone else is engaged in so much bias and misinformation, they are proving to be least useless.

  • Agree they're pretty useless and that certainly can discredit their findings. They seem more useless and ineffective when it comes to taking action and causing any real compliance. I'm reminded of an old Black Bush, Chappelle skit where he taunts the UN for not having an army. Their reporting at least tends to be more, investigative, impartial and factual though.

  • You are right and maybe wrong about the UN.

Is there anything better we can offer? Have known friends that did military service and ended up as UN peace keepers. Seems there are odd rules for peace keepers especially when the us get involved

  • Going to find the quote told to Noam Chomsky about Jews not supporting Israel being self hating as told to Noam.

  • From my own experience working with (not for) the UN and studying its origins, imo they’re a prime example of organisational scope creep. Too much crap and complexity attached to what is at its core a very valuable forum, for all sorts of reasons.

Their main mission is to prevent another world/large war, and on that front they’re doing ok. We probably would have had a war during the Cuban missile crisis if there hadn’t been a forum like the UN.

  • Related to the above, there are now reports emerging from Al-Shifa hospital of rape of hospital patients inc. pregnant women. First read reports of this from Palestinian journalist Hossam Shbat, and some of those who managed to escape the hospital have described what's going on in Al-Shifa (not just rape of course) in interviews with Arab TV channels. Bigger media outlets are now picking up the stories.
