Hmm I reckon the Nukeproof ratchets that were for sale on wiggle/crc were very likely manufactured by the same factories producing the ones on Aliexpress.
If that’s the case then it didn’t really make the £30 that much of a bargain compared to buying them on AliX.As far as I understand it, it is not a case of DT Swiss licensing the ratchet to Nukeproof.
It’s actually because the patent expired in January 2020 and that’s why there was a sudden explosion of hubs on Aliexpress with ratchets made by Ztto and a few others. It’s also why there are a few more legitimate companies making hubs with ratchet drives now.I have genuine DT ratchets in one 350 hub and Aliexpress ratchets in another hub. The AliX ones have been running for about 2 years with no issues at all.
DT Swiss definitely weren’t making the ratchets for Nukeproof!

Huh, I didn't know the patent expired. Explains why they moved to EXP I guess.
After a bit of googling it it looks like it might be manufactured by KT? https://www.showdaily.net/2022/07/kt-taiwan-perfects-ratchet-drive-freehub-manufacturing/

The Nukeproof ratchet upgrade is out of stock now unfortunately. It says stock expected soon though
It should work with another DT Swiss star ratchet if you find one of those. Last time I looked it was £80 for an official DT Swiss one and the other option was AliExpress, which is why the Nukeproof was a good deal as it's presumably not made of cheese (possibly made by DT Swiss even) but still half the price
