Was gonna say, a nice leather jacket, either vintage or non fashion brand can spark most outfits.

Are you looking for a total new style ideas or keeping with the workwear theme? If you want to mix it up, adding in some modern technical outdoorsy fabrics is very now, especially as they're invariably in bright colours.

I've realised that every pair of non-baggy jeans I've had have blasted through the crotch. Some faster than the others, but all without fail.

Never tried insanely heavy weight denim as I get quite claustrophobic in restrictive clothes.

Derek Guy @dieworkwear on Twitter posts some corking advice and buying tips but he posts so much it's hard to find the ones you want.

Something new really. The dawning realisation that I’ve basically dressed the exact same way for the last 8 years bums me out. And trying to inject some freshness into that process.

That's interesting - as I approach retirement I'm finally honing in on exactly what I like and intend to wear until they put me in a cardboard box.

No true cotton denim lasts with biking, if that's what you're asking. that said, i just get the crotch darned for 15 bucks and its good as new for another few years.

the heavy weight denim takes a year to even start to break in and can feel quite restrictive.

Bit reluctant to say this, but when I got rid of my hair it felt very refreshing.

Tapered has always been the cut that works with my legs/hips/bum the best. They look great!

Well, I went from hair down to my belly to a normal length in the last 12 months. Probably good for chopping any more off for a while (I’m growing it back for now shh).

Ok, cool. I’d say try to compile one complete new outfit using some Pinterest etc searches for inspiration, I tend to screen grab stuff when I come across it and stick it in a photo album for later.
Have a squizz at End clothing website (or in one of their shops is better), Universal Works, Folk...
My wife who’s a menswear buyer just pinged me these pics, give us feedback and we’ll hone the search :)

Definitely 3 speaks the most to me, but perhaps less muted palette wise.

That field jacket is by Orslow I think, also Engineered Garments are worth a google.

I'd be curious to know anywhere in the UK near London that is that cheap for darning. I think I paid something like £30 or £40.

I'm not sure if you mean something else by 'darning' but i get the crotch reinforced with patches in all my trousers because cycling at the local dry cleaners for £12.

Also silly wide trousers better than all that skinny and/or not long enough stuff.

And that’s what makes us all thankfully different. You like to dress like the sketchy guy I bought pills off in the 90s and I dress like a preppy twat. ❤️

Hahaha. Exactly. Feels a bit funny to be back with stuff that I might have worn in the nineties (if I was selling pills not smoking weed back then). I blame the younger partner and Berlin.

In the interests of fair criticism, here’s a bog shot… Levi’s hickory stripe chore with a black mock turtle neck. I think some of my wife’s suggestions ^ were levied at me because for some reason she’s always trying to get me in a denim jacket.
