Unfortunately we started with series 1 and my OH quickly vetoed it.
Colin from Accounts was great.

Remember BITD when you'd just put the TV on and watch something for a bit in the evening because you were knackered and just wanted some down time?
Now you've got to fuck around and search for something. Almost everything in your list of recommendations is either violent, intense, addictive, or some combination of those.
I want something that if on, I'm not going to miss out by cooking dinner or painting the skirting. If for example we watched Mr Inbetween, I would require it to be paused or not be watched if I'm doing something. Whereas, as enjoyable as Community was, I didn't generally miss out by missing an episode.
Does that explain it better?

Brooklyn 99.
Its brilliant and light-hearted.
Oh or watch Scrubs. It's getting on a bit, but still good.

I do find that almost everything on Netflix is the same. A lot of the movies are just the same story, they just change the actors and locations (even a lot of the foreign language ones are just basically remakes). Everything is made the same way, they all feel the same.

Masterchef. Watercolour challenge. Bake off. Surely that's the primary use-case for these sort of shows?

Also, Whitehouse and Mortimer go fishing!

Bobs Burgers
What We Do in the Shadows (does have a bit of an ongoing plot line but could be drop in drop out I think)
This Country (short)
People Just Do Nothing
The James May Amazon programs are quite fun ('Oh Cook...' and 'Our Man In') -

In theory i should love P&R, it should be perfect for me, but I just couldn't get it to it.
-
• #9164
Family Guy is a bit much, and doesn't feel that light or funny anymore.
I've rinced most of SP, but not sure my OH will be that up for it.

• #9165
Did you also make the much fabled mistake of starting with Season 1?

Masters of the Air is pretty bad isn’t it?
Really strange interpretation of Britain…some genuinely odd casting and writing.I’m expecting the introduction of the black pilots to ignore the fact the US military tried to impose segregation on British cities and extend the segregation rules onto British troops of colour

Masters of the Air is pretty bad isn’t it?
Not sure it's 'bad', but definitely mediocre. Very close to being quite boring at times, but just interesting enough.
It's definitely not a shade on BoB or the Pacific, which is incredible.

• #9168
Yes?

Season 1 is shit. You can start from Season 2 without missing anything and it's so much better.

Okey dokey

Is anyone else watching Octopus Murders documentary series on netflix? Mad story, reminded me of Daniel Morgan's unsolved murder.

It's like that episode of sex and the city, where Carrie loses all her work, and everyone asks why she didn't back up, but no one has ever mentioned backing up before.
As soon as you say you didn't get on with P&R, everyone goes, "really? But it's amazing! Oh hang on you didn't think you were meant to start from the beginning did you!?! Lol. Oh no you start with Season 2."

Bobs burgers has lots of in jokes if you watch.
The Last Airbender.
Utterly dire. Shonky flying and even shonkier acting.
