go to jail gif
I actually enjoy watching Eli race I think it’s just Ridley’s I hate, seat tube looks silly on his bike.
Betsema sadly suffers the classic “we don’t understand womens geometry” situation. The just use an xs bike doesn’t really work for most of the female riders* in my life who ride. *also me with Trex arms.

Hah I just hate the guy for no reason, maybe it’s the small bike!
Lot of chat on the weekly news email I get about this idea of ‘free labour’ whilst someone else makes profit eg college football, Olympics, does apply to cx where they charge entry and must make ££ on retail, though doesn’t massively stack up in road cycling.
Surprising that the uci approached a reasonable idea eg ‘how do we get max good riders at World Cup rounds’ and came up with such a weird sideways way to approach it -

Cx race organisers in Belgium pay start money to the big names in order to attract as many paying spectators as possible. MVDP is rumoured to be paid €25k per race, so I don’t think the free labour argument stacks up.

Yeah Labour probably a poor use of phrasing.
I mostly dislike the highest body throwing their weight around like this, very icky.

I don't imagine for a second that this new plan for the World Cup was cooked up with major input from Flanders Classics, who organise the series.
I'll be honest, as much as I like all the Belgian races, climate change has meant that most of them are now absolute mud fests, akin more to a tractor pulling contest than a bike race, and the World Cup has successfully added races that are a) not in Belgium and b) not always on muddy courses. I like that.

Yes but…
Koksijde.

I’m all for more races outside Belgium, some of my favourite ones have been outside it, Tabor is must watch for me as can be Waterloo. There was one in France a while back that was excellent as well but the name evades me.
Benidorm I can lose.
It’s not so much the losing it, I have issues with independent contractors, as cyclocross racers are, being told you must be here or you get a fine.

Bogense was a great worlds to watch, the off camber down and up was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
Am I now not working and thinking of all the great cross races I’ve watched now? Who could say.

Think she's got rid of it now? Probably why she was off the pace the past season. Either that or the drugs don't work.

Those European champs were pretty hot. Great contest for the win in both men’s and women’s races.

Pidcock confirms that he won’t be riding any CX races this winter.

That's a pity. Was really looking forward to seeing him competing in the mud (or sand) again.
At this weekend's 2 great races in a row for instance, Hulst & Zonhoven -

At least that means less bollocks about 'the big three'.
lol. Where do you stand on Betsema's spacer stack?
