I've still never been to Mildred's, which I need to remedy soon! I think it might be a bit too "vegan" for my step dad though. He's quite fussy and will only eat vegan if forced or tricked, haha.

There’s a Franco Manca. I didn’t have much luck with Coal Drops Yard with my then-3yo, but there might be something worth a look now?

Then Mildred's would be ideal for him. I think its success is partly due to catering for people precisely like your stepdad.
-
• #10355
Trick the fuck out of the cunt then lord it over him.
-
• #10356
It's not worth the hassle. You weren't there when he realised my mum had been giving him coconut yoghurt for months without him realising. Quite the diatribe.
-
• #10357
Franco Manca would do the job actually.
-
• #10358
Maybe I'll run it by him! The meal is part of his Christmas present though so I'd rather go for something he'll really enjoy, rather than tolerate.

Sounds like it was worth it to me.

I've made this recipe twice in the past week, it is absolutely banging and could not be easier to make.

Well, you say that…
could not be easier to make.
But…
Working in batches and one ingredient at a time

Great suggestions actually! Thanks.
-
• #10364
Does that not describe all vegetable chopping? Now you're using a blender, easy.
-
• #10365
Thanks! I made this tonight and it was great.

Anyone eaten at Mowgli? Looks like a decent vegan selection. We're headed there tomorrow lunch, so I will report back...
-
• #10367
We always go to the Mowgli in Liverpool when we visit, the vegan tiffin box is pretty good. Not been to the London one yet.
-
• #10368
Yeah, I'm pleased to say it was absolutely banging. Lots of choice on the vegan menu and my wife enjoyed her meat dishes a lot. Would eat there again, and recommend!

Oooh matron! Unintentional Partridge, I assure you.

Is it a political thing?

Absobloodyexactly! Fuck Vegan burger buns

• #10373
What a dumb article 🤦
-
• #10374
Why? It's a totally valid point. It's infuriating that vegan is now the default for people who don't eat meat but don't also want to have to have cheeze or vegan buns or faux mayo 😬
-
• #10375
Pretty easy to ask to swap out cheeze for cheese or buns on a meal for the not vegan version, much as it's easy to ask for no cheese or mayo if that's the only thing making a veggie meal vegan.
You could just go to Mildred's - it is all vegan, but a lot of variety on the menu so there really should be something for everyone.
