I agree, I don't understand what his actual point was. Was he trying to say that there will be a zero tolerance to protest? (something the Tories have been trying to achieve for a while).
The lecturn should only be brought out for major announcements. He could have said that shit on BBC,ITV,Sky etc in an interview. He must be cooking something up or just felt the need to get more of his money's worth out of his lecturn than Truss

I’m still trying to work out what he thought that speech would achieve.
He seems to have this air of exasperation all the time that the country is facing all these problems, and no one is doing anything to address them. It’s a baffling political strategy. And the problems he’s highlighting have little to no relevance to the vast majority of people, who are trying to keep their heads above water.
