Good luck. Hopefully it'll be worth the effort and you'll be able to stop in a few weeks.
I'm struggling to get my cat Mowgli to take his daily meds for his recently diagnosed and sadly progressive heart condition. He's a fussy eater anyway and frightened and aggressive if I try to pick him up without it being on his terms (legacy from trauma as a kitten). They are small pills but too bitter to go unnoticed in wet foods and treats so I'm now trying insanely expensive liquid and chicken flavour versions.
The lengths we go to for our beloved furballs.

The one small plus of yesterday is that if she's supervised and not scratching that she can have the cone off. Hoorah

There are a number of different brands of "pill pockets" so hopefully some will be available.

Small update on lil ol May
All of the medication (we've had to do a spreadsheet and everything to keep on track of it) seems to be doing the trick. Her ulcer is still there, but substantially less discharge, and opening her eye for the medication is way way way easier than our first visit to the vets.
With that as well around the 3 week mark we're starting to see a little more of her personality starting to come out a little bit, and it's nice to know (we think) that she is now settling in. We didn't think she was particularly food motiviated; turns out she is and will beg quite loudly post-breakfast for more. Would like her to play a little more to shake off the weight, but the only way so far is with toys that have food in them and she has to try and get out
Here's a photo of her in slightly less than flattering circumstances - couldn't help myself

Waily is now asking to use the flap with assistance so will hopefully realise he can just open it himself soon. He's discovered he can see the bird table through it so has been sitting for yonks watching them. I got him through it by playing cat noises, he loves a scrap so came charging through to see who the hell was in his house.

I'm sure I remember the person on here who has 5 of them said their biggest was 14kg although Google tells me up to 10kg usually.
Here's Lucifer. He's not Maine coon but he is 5.2kg 🙂

The ginger bastard weighs 4.2 kilos already. Maine coon don’t stop growing until they are 4 years old. Most domestic cats are done by 18months.

He’s evil as well. By far the maddest we have.
He woke me this morning at 3 am by biting my lip.
He was hungry, no he wanted to play , no he was just being mean. -

Got woken up at 3:30 by Waily screaming the house down. Turns out he was stood at the cat flap shouting at an un-neutered tom cat that was in our garden. Not even the urge to go and kick butt could get him to figure out how to open it.

Any tips on dealing with the zoomies?
Yesterday out of nowhere, May was all over the flat, running, jumping, all sorts. She did enjoy some play and we're obviously going to keep her stimulated, but it threw us off having not done it before. We've got a Feliway plugged in, and we have some Metacamin which she was taking last week and the vet suggested has a calming vibe to it. Gave another drop of that in her food today and she's been much more chilled/docile, but would like to hope that isn't the only solution...

Any reason you can't just leave her to do it? Watching zoomies is part of the fun

Yes, he had a majestic ruff and a filthy Scrabble game!
Ouch! Petplan have always been quick whenever we’ve claimed, so hopefully your experience will be similar. Hope May’s on the mend soon.
