  • Contemplating an Asgard myself. Would you mind sharing the model you have and how they got in? Also, was it locked to an anchor inside the Asgard?

Fingers crossed for either a recovery or an insurance pay out.

  • It was the 4 bike model. This one
    https://www.asgardsss.co.uk/bike-storage-x4

I'll DM you with some more details, I don't want to put them out in public.

It wasn't locked to an anchor inside, but if I was going to do this again I would definitely do that.

  • Did you use it around glass mills ?
There’s one I see there and at downham a fair bit. So don’t want to say “is this it?”

  • Cheers, but probably not my one. We often, used to :(, go past glass mills on the way to wavelengths, but don't usually stop round there.

Here's my cargo bike frame dilemma, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, keen to join the gang

  • fucking terrible! sorry to hear.

  • Lockable box would be very handy for storing say the cover, and the battery are my thoughts. I don't need loads of cargo space (currently get most of my kit on the back of a Tinker), and I reckon you could easy squeeze a person in there lol.

  • Sorry to hear that happened to you. This is a paranoia of mine, leaving stuff locked in the front yard.

Do you mind me asking where it happened to you?

You're calmer than me, I'd be around at that address with a crowbar... or down at the local cop shop apoplectic that they weren't sending in a TSG team.

  • Cheers @amey and @dubkev.

The police did actually say they were going to go round and 'have a look' didn't sound like they were sending a full squad though.

We're in Crofton Park, and the locker was just in our front garden - pretty visible, so I was surprised someone was happy enough to force their way in.

Happy to share some more details via DM later today.

  • That's rubbish. I'm also round that way, well just down the road (and was thinking of putting an Asgard in our front garden!) but this is food for thought... Will keep my eyes out for the Yuba though. How did they get into the Asgard?

  • Cheers, don't want to put too much info out on a public forum in case it encourages copy cats. I'll dm you some details later after I've finished work.

  • I was about to ask if locking on street with a Pragmasis or similar was a viable strategy, but seems that's asking for trouble.

  • Only the angle grinder resistant D locks are vaguely reliable.

Even then I would still like insurance and a GPS tracker

  • Does the Knog use the ‘find my’ network? If yes does it notify people that a tracker is following them?

  • Lockable box would be very handy for storing say the cover, and the battery are my thoughts. I don't need loads of cargo space (currently get most of my kit on the back of a Tinker), and I reckon you could easy squeeze a person in there lol.

Definitely spoken from someone who isn't carting kids around on the regular. You can't squeeze a kid in anything, and they usually come with a backpack or jackets or whatever else and they usually come in at least pairs. Not to mention if you're on route home and want to stop to get a few groceries then you're shit out of luck, because once you've squeezed the kid(s) in the last hing you want to do is squeeze them in again, this time next to the purchases.

I'm not trying to be a Internet warrior on this either. I'm just saying that at first glance it's "wow that's awesome" but realistically it's an incredibly expensive way to get something that is ultimately a compromise.

This bike is a super expensive grocery getter aimed squarely at those who have lots of money and not a lot of needs. Which isn't a crime, at all.... Just not me.

  • It uses the find my network, but I'd be surprised if it notifies people. That would seem like a bad idea.

To be honest I'm not quite sure how it could notify people. The tracker is connected to my phone, not the phone of whoever stole the bike.

  • It would be the same way air tags do, they use the find my network, and any phone that connects with that will know if there's a device nearby. it's apples solution to stop people using air tags to hide on people or their personal property to find out where they live, where their stuff is stored etc.

I don't know whether non apple air tags still notify other people on the network or not. If they don't i might get one!

  • Really sorry to hear this & hope the insurance covers your loss. I’ve got an Asgard at the front as well so wondered if you’d mind sending me a DM with the details of how they got in. I’ve been kidding myself that they are impregnable but sounds not

  • my pragmasis chain was cut within 5 mins with angle grinder and bike stolen, powunity tracker was useless too

  • DX1000 + AX1000 is the only way I'll be using an Asgard I think.

  • What happened to the powunity in the end

  • The one my pal bought is in good nick and is in perfect working order..

Anyone near port Talbot able to collect one of those ea4 batteries for me?

  • nothing, they washed their hands off it, useless

  • First time transporting an adult on the back of my longtail went great but really makes me want to swap from front to middrive.
