Thanks - what’s a hopper?
I googled it and it came up with a Sri Lankan egg pancake 😬 -

Ha! It’s the metal funnel thing in your photo that collects rainwater at the top of the downpipe…
Looking to get something similar, and yours is particularly shapely.

I now have a new word in my vocabulary 👍. All the gutters, pipes and hoppers are made by Lindab- they do them in stainless steel and Aluminium and they’ll paint them any RAL colour you fancy

Perfect, thank you!
Was looking at Guttercrest versions of the same, but the Lindab range looks nicer.

Thanks indeed.
The hall / glass is one of my favourite places as the light and feel changes all the time.
Out front I needed to move some mud and the stones as the plan is to get a concrete slab laid, up to where the drain stacks are and build up a block / concrete bench against the house .
What you can see are some original footings where the steps were. Hopefully the pic makes sense.
The slab will be tiled with the terrazzo I picked up further down the thread

We decided against a porch and will be going for a rain canopy just over the door . This kind of thing:

Also have plans for a pond on the raised mud area - I have some spare steel guttering that I may use to divert some rain water into the pond which could be used a a frog/newt waterslide

I’d really like one of these for the front of the house (not the dog)

Ah cool- where did you get yours from?
This one would be great for sitting on and with gravel and planting around it -

My sister found it a local(ish) quarry - it was a gift from her family and my parents.. We live in Denmark, so can't offer any help locating a suitable place in the UK. (I might know a place near Glasgow though)
They found one that was less than 1,5 metric tonnes, because apparently the shipping rates take a big hike above that. -

Thanks - I’ve been looking at this place and trying to find out where they’re located. (Waiting on a message back)

I get that they are very good looking stones, but I reckon there's between 40-400% markup compared to finding something at a commercial quarry.

Good point- I’ll do some research!🧐

Aren't you down in the (near) West Country?
Shepton Mallet has some large stone quarries.
Love these hoppers!
Would you mind sharing what they are?
