  • 55 squadies to increase my yardino by 419 is a pretty good ratio :)

  • How many more like these are in your data?

  • Nice. My best yardino increase so far, and probably ever, was 394 for 8. Got kudos from The Squadrofunkulus which was nice.

  • Did you plan these largeish chunks which you then connected?

  • No. One was centered on home, the other on work. I did make an effort to join them as my commute needed widening. My first join attempt failed when I missed a key square but it meant the actual join ride was a high ratio.

  • It's a while back but...

  • That's just a long ride. I'm talking about expanding a yard/ino.

I guess I was just missing some squares for my commute across London.

  • I can't be arsed to grow my 20x20 square or 1000 tile home cluster this year so I was thinking of starting a new challenge. I have to travel for work so I thought I would try to create as many 10x10 squares or 100 tile clusters as possible. Does that make sense?

  • The only problem with that is you have to add up the squares yourself

  • True, it would be great if the apps provided support for this idea. Anyways, not really that keen on the numbers anymore so I can just look at the map and pat myself on the back. Another idea is I would like to connect the clusters by riding and create a biggest possible area inside.

  • Numplumz rode the coast of the UK, so I guess that's the biggest you can do here.

  • 37 bigguns today and grew my square by 5. Go me.

  • Jonathan France started following me. Looking for tips on his missing squadies out west I wonder? :D

I had a feeling he was on here?

  • France

Must all be 'foreign' to him out here?

  • It is a bit funny to see France covering so much of England.

  • Autobahnraststätte today. East and West.

  • this one is a shit. I think there are some steps i can get to over an iron fence on north side to get down at low tide. Anyone done similar? where did you go down to the water?

  • Lots of exposed shingle showing on the Google aerial photo and someone got down at low tide a few years ago to take a photosphere. This looks a lot like a gate in the railings but hard to be sure.

  • I have to confess to benefiting from a bit of GPS wobble to get that one. One day I'll go over all those slightly dodgy ones. When I do, I think I'd target this from the SW - the riverfront terrace outside the Battersea development seems to just nip into that corner.

  • I take it you can't get onto that jetty bottom right?

Bottom left looks like you could swing your arm over a fence for it, perhaps or get onto the sandy bit?

  • From the south there is currently barriers up to stop getting any closer than my lines currently do. And yeah the jetty it all closed off.

@jellybaby that is a gate to go down some dodgy looking stone stairs. Its is padlocked - i think this is the way to do it but i wasnt sure on legality / how odd i will look

  • if i can read the tides website correctly i think my best chances are 27th or a v low tide on 12th March. I`ll keep you updated

    thanks

  • Where’s the best place to get auto of the car and check the booth is closed?

You are mostly allowed to walk on the foreshore. There are a few bits where you aren't because of dangerous structures or the Palace of Westminster etc but I think that stretch is okay. I'd climb the gate ay my own risk if I was there. If you had a foreshore permit you would be able to dig to 7.5cm in that area. https://www.pla.co.uk/Environment/Thames-foreshore-permits has a link to a map of restrictions (https://gis.pla.co.uk/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=5f5f552365114082963ad4ffb3a6b17f)

The PLA tide tables can be handy for planning trips: https://www.pla.co.uk/assets/platidebooklet2024.pdf

    Great predictive text misfire.

As for your question, I don't know which booth you mean, and why. I can't see anything like that in the aerial image.
