  • I’d like to buy a smart trainer and find a training plan to get faster/fitter, no specific goal.

I’m looking at buying the Wahoo Kickr Core. I have an iPhone, no laptop or tablet.

Tried watching some YouTube videos on this and I’m a bit lost, any advice is appreciated.

  • You don't need a smart trainer but it does let you do the computer game stuff like Zwift, Rouvy etc. Trainerroad is very training-specific and has AI stuff for calculating threshold etc. Not sure if Wahoo Systm is still a thing but it has complementary video stuff like yoga and circuits.

All of them them will work with the Core so I would just trial them and see what works for you.

As with anything fitness related, quality work little and often will get you a long way so pick an UI you think will be sustainable in the long term.

  • Wahoo Systm is now part of Wahoo X, which wants a monthly subscription around the same price as Trainerroad / Zwift ~£12 a month.

I've never used it but I'd probably favour Zwift/Trainerroad depending on your preference. You can free trial both before you commit.
