Hi
Yes, the same Nardò as the Ring. However it’s about a 20 minute drive from here. See all sorts of weird and wonderful cars on the road. -

That‘s cool! I guess it makes sense to keep some distance between a racetrack and a residential area…

We once had a guy turn up here at 2am who’d booked a room thinking we were near the ring. We are in the old centre so there’s no parking for non residents so he had to leave his low loader with a McLaren Senna parked in plain sight on the street!

Ha! I guess that wasn't a particularly relaxing night. Odd choice to take a max down force car to a high speed oval tho…

He’d brought it down from Woking for testing. He was with us for about a week. He wasn’t the owner, just the delivery guy who left it at the track and went everyday. They also have an internal test circuit, not just the ring. We always have convoys of Porsche etc whizzing through town. The best was a couple of years ago when a Dutch test driver got stuck in the old town in a Lotus and had to reverse all the way out.

Here’s a few of when it all started…

You really transformed that garden into paradise, amazing.
When I was working in the Cilento a few years back, I was astonished for how little you could buy large country houses as long as they weren't built directly at the coast. -

Thanks. We looked around the Castellabate area in the Cilento National Park a long time ago but we decided there wasn’t enough going on for us all year round. There are still plenty of abandoned masseria her for little money but usually for a reason.

Great thread. As an italian I'm quite jealous of your place. How big of an impact has the Porsche track on your business/choice to relocate in Nardò?
-

Hi, tbh it’s had no impact at all. We have only ever had the one guest who mistakenly booked in Nardò thinking we were near the Ring. When we chose Nardò it had no bearing on our decision as we wanted a place in the historic centre which had a big all year round community.

Can only imagine the rides

Any updates? @DarrellNardo

Hi, sure. I’ve just spent the last few weeks painting the internal courtyard and the garden is in full bloom!

No, thank you.

Stunning is indeed the best way of describing those areas. I can feel the warmth just looking at them!

Very kind of you, we are very lucky.

Lovely. Who's the green fingered one? Congrats of being restrained in planting

Just wonderful, good job.

The wife is the gardener, I just spent months making it. Turning, levelling, trenches for irrigation and lighting, carting everything through the house as there’s only one way in and out…

Thanks 🙏

Mmm was thinking of where to go this August with my girls...you fully booked in Aug?

Not as yet, Italians are notorious for late bookings. I wouldn’t advise coming when the Italians have Ferragosto as it’s chaotic.
I still have it, it currently decorates my living room. I couldn‘t be asked to put up a sales ad but I guess I‘ll pass it on eventually as it‘s just a little too small for me. p.s. The Nardo you live in, is it the same Nardo as the High Speed Oval race track?
