Most heat shrink will halve in size after shrinking so measure the widest bit it needs to go over and buy some heat shrink one size over that. Or you can get little variety size boxes usually in the middle of Lidl etc

is this some nod to some classic literature, greeks or romans. budgetary restraints ?
It's a theatrical device which goes back at least to classical antiquity

RS Components is your friend
Well, more of an acquaintance you keep in the back of your mind for time when, if you have a problem... if no one else can help... and if you can find them... maybe you can hire...RS/CPC-Farnell/McMaster-Carr/SJSC

interesting
after the build up for maris in frasier one can see her appearance would only be an anti climax , but that points to how well written her character is

Why not replace it with errrr..... some heat shrink?
Yes, I'd worked that much out. I should have been more specific:
- this heat shrink says "125° C (∅15).
- it is on a ceiling light covering wires that are crimped together with plastic crimps.
Is there a particular type of heat shrink I need to use? Or does it just need to be the right size?
Cheers.

The most basic general purpose stuff is 125°C rated. If you don't want to fund one of the platforms, Hilltop is my go-to for tubular products, their shipping charge on small orders is steep but less than RS

Cheers.
Good to know it's nothing special as I've got one of those pound shop or wikos variety packs knocking about somewhere.

So after hours of cleaning the Le Creuset pan with baking soda and vinegar can somebody confirm its the expanding carbondioxide that broke down the grime?

Is there still no Lap button on Zwift?!

its the expanding carbondioxide that broke down the grime?
I think that only works with dry ice blasting
I suspect the main mechanism is saponification of oily contamination due to the alkaline solution.

Nitto B135SSB are the ones I’m using. 38cm bar with approx. 35/34mm position.

Not the abrasive action of the soda (supposing the mix has left some undissolved)?
-
• #120490
Oily contamination you would include whatever black substance the slow roasted goulash had solidified into?

@aggi haven't tried it myself but this looks decent?

You need barkeepers friend, I don't know how it works but I know it will never take hours

Not the abrasive action of the soda
That's definitely part of it

If it's black, it's probably got a fair bit of pyrolised carbohydrate and protein in the mix, but bound with polymerised fats. It's a primitive carbon fibre composite 🙂

I erred on the side of caution with scratching the residue with the carbon? non sticky pan egglifter.

I’ve been attacking ours with barkeepers for 15 years and they’re still here to tell the tale.
