on a separate topic I requested a new PCA blood test.. I got heavily quizzed by the clinical physician at my GP about why since I had a test two years ago which showed nothing unusual.
I responded saying that I continue to present symptoms, that frankly my GP does not think important enough and I then questioned why we don’t have a national screening programme for the most prolific and deadly cancer for men, yet we now have one for bowel cancer.. he didn’t have an answer.

Screening is a funny one - there's a point at which it becomes worthwhile, at the population level (and a different point the personal level), where there are no symptoms presented for a condition.
For prostate cancer, this page covers some of the reasons that it's not worth screening for.
As for deadliest for men? Not really, if you look at the UK numbers. For men only maybe, but that narrows it down a lot.
