Damaged JRJ/Bob Jackson frame

Posted on
  • Just wanted to see if anyone was interested in this-its a late 50s track/path frame and fork with mudguard eyes etc.
The bad first- the drive side track end/ dropouts has snapped off the chain stay where it was brazed on. I took it to Winston Vaz and he said he didn't want to re-braze it as he couldn't guarantee it like that, and that it was more complicated than simply refitting a new track end as the frame had pencil stays that are narrower than modern track end fittings.
The good- frame is nice, nervex lugs etc, was refurbished by Bob Jackson probably in the late 80s, but I fitted some period New old stock varnish fix JRJ decals to the downtube that are more in keeping with Bob Jackson's JRJ transfers of the late 50s.
Someone may want this to have a go at rebrazing it themselves or want to cut out and fit a new plate steel dropout themselves, or maybe you know a frame builder who would fix it cheaply and get yourself a nice track /path frame for not bad money?
I Think It Is 56cm square, I'll check for sure tomorrow.

I need to get a bit of money for it if I can so anyone interested for £25

  • Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the current track end has a gear hanger so frame most likely a TT frame in past, drilled front and rear. In case anyone wonders, the forks are included- they are on the shelf in the background in photo one, but the headset is not.

  • Will get better photos tomorrow if any interest.

  • Interested. Dibs. Pm sent.

  • Gone to @mig pending collection tomorrow
