Ha, I bought the official version when I had to replace them on our second bullitt. Won't make that mistake again.

-
• #13055
availability, I refuse to spend a single day without a cargo bike
also had a go on packster 70 and load at the same time, all other front load bikes I have ridden somewhat ride like the packster, load is a different beast, so much fun to ride!

Thats super interesting to hear. We have a bullitt and I just dont enjoy riding it that much (like longtail much better.) Was looking at the cubes out of boredom/they are extremely cheap used here. MAy need to try test riding a load (thinking at moving on a few bikes soon)

@young_gun we have a Douze and they're lovely to ride. Was a toss-up between that and the Bullitt as my wife hated how the Bullitt handled.
Might need to chat to you about electrification of our Douze. We've had ours for over 6 years and love it, although just before Christmas have moved from West London to South Wales and it's a little hillier so might need some added ooomph!!!

definitely have a go on Load

Another vote for trying the Load! By far the most fun to ride of the box bikes we tried. Hit 2k miles on ours recently :)

Can you remove tension with cable adjusters?

hmm let me check, when its at its loosest(?) position its at a really awkward place in terms of seat stay to get any leverage
tempted to just rohloff

I normally stick a little flat bladed screwdriver underneath it to pop it out.

A green delivery pilot program seems to collapsed here after only a few months and they are liquidating these things cheap. I realllly want to see someone commute around town in one

Getting replacement might be tricky - and probably more like motorcycle or moped spec
But would be cool with some windows in the back -

It was nice of Cannondale to integrate a
littlemassive coffee table in the bottom bracket of this

@young_gun been meaning to ask you about your electric conversion on the Bullitt. I know you have a few other cargo bikes too! :)
We have a Douze which is very similar in performance to Bullitt and the move from West London (pretty flat with some short hills - especially vs. Austria!) to South Wales where the hills are that bit steeper and longer again has made me think we need some e-assist, more so than just SPD's on my feet!
I would still want to ride the bike as much as I can without assistance, but know when loaded to get up the hills I will need it. The Swytchbike hub sounds interesting. So have you gone with separate battery set-up to get more range? Currently we have a dyno hub so would ideally want something that can give us lights too rather than switch to battery lights as I'm a big dyno-light fan.
Just trying to look into this as want to avoid using the car as traffic at times is worse than where we were in West London! :)

The bullitt is my wife's but it’s going great though need to redo the battery mount next week. Its just an older kit with the bigger battery (lights are run off a hack that taps power from the line for the throttle i found online) i did it this way as i had the kit spare already really and had the correct wheels size. But front drive is great to have the bike be analog most of the time (how my wife uses it) any 20” bafang front drive setup will work just as well. If you aren’t worried about range get a small bottle battery, less weight. Long tail basically has this setup and also works great. I find the front drive rides nicer un powered then the bafang mid drive. Maybe its my imagination but having 2 of each it is the family consensus.
you are correct. I've been replacing mine with walking stick feet. About £2.50 for a pack of four from my local hardware store.
