I don’t know the answer but are they the ones with the Vibram sole on the crepe? I’m thinking of attempting to DIY something similar on a beaten pair of sanders

It is yes. Got them half price so pretty bummed out they're too big :(

I’ve got a pair well worn in, they stretch a bit but not enough to require a change of your normal size.
If you got a 10.5 in brown I’d take them off you!

I suspect it is poor form to post DMs in here, but I am rather taken with this years Lunar calendar edition.
Not sure I really want to drop £180 on DMs... -

Just wanted to say thanks to the kind folks who suggested a few casual but not oxfords shoe brands (not verbatim request). My flat feet are very happy in their Tod’s.

Church’s brogues £55
Now those are proper leather shoes

I applied way to much leather conditioner to my boots. I've attempted to remove with soapy water and a sponge, next step was to try the same but with a nail brush. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Stick them next to a radiator until they are warm and rub briskly with an adsorbent cloth?
-

Micro fiber cloth might work

I’d use saddle soap and start over

I’d just wear them and faughettaaaboouttit

Who was it that had a pair of Redwing chukas resoled in black? Weak search powers today…
-
• #9340
I have some Moc Toes resoled in black vibram.
Funnily enough wearing them for the first time in ages.
-
• #9341
Ahh brilliant, thank you. They look great and confirms it’s time to get rid of my permanently grubby light coloured soles.

Like @DethBeard I had my boots (Moorbys) resoled in black, the Vibram one I used was Morflex, supposedly a tinier bit more grip and lighter than a standard Cristy.
-
• #9343
Nice, I also have some chukkas that will need a resolve soon, who did them for you?
-
• #9344
I had my Timberlands done with Vibram Morflex, they've been good

Original Cobblers in Orpington.
https://www.shoe-repairs.co.uk/
I dropped them off as I fancied a trip out, nice folk, super busy.
dozens of Red Wings in for various jobs.
(IIRC they used to be the "official" UK resoler of RW boots)(C&P from a year ago)
They do mail order, I dropped mine off but got them to post them back.
Threw in a free pair of laces, which was nice.I have some red wing chukkas, but I don't get on with them, rub a bit on one heel.

Great thank you, and perfect - that's only about a half hour away from me so will pay them a visit as some point.
I always get on OK with the chukkas although I think the fit got a bit narrower with my latest pair.
look good @paininthe 👍

I was looking at using Original Cobblers as they are recommended by Red Wing. My chukkas need doing as well and it is £130 at Original Cobblers, which is probably nearly what I paid for them all them years ago!
I asked in my local cobbler and he reckoned he could do my red wing chukkas for about £50 if he can source the parts. Is it worth paying the extra money for Original Cobblers to do them?

• #9348
I got my redwing chukkas done by local cobbler, can't remember the exact price but similar to above and results are fine.

• #9349
Didn't realise it was 3 years ago already!

No, I've had several pairs done here very well for half that
