Reasonably sure the virgin routers, like most I've had, just have an option in their settings if you go to 198.162.0.1 or whatever it is for yours.

engine proof silicone is of wildly differing quality, the bright blue loctite stuff is great (my vac pump is stuck to the block with it) but the black shit in a gold tube i bought on amazon age ago is utter shite

Not holiday but went working in Tirana three times last year, longest being a fortnight. Great place and lovely people I definitely plan to go back for a holiday and explore the country more. Mad driving in town!

I would say it is, Sarande is very built up down towards the South, but a day trip to Corfu via ferry is an idea.
Xsamil has nice small beaches but almost all are backed by and owned by restaurants.

Stayed in a castle on the way down from Tirana to Sarande in Elbasan worth a short visit if driving down.

Never made it too beaches we were planning on Durres but work got in the way. We did end up hiring cars. Three arrived from reputable hire company - two were on empty and all were well used!! Not an attempt to mug us off just more relaxed attitude. Might be different if you get them at the airport, the embassy sorted mine. I was a bit apprehensive about driving there but the carnage is a lot more easy going there so I quite got into it - still saw some frightening overtakes though.

Can you licence or patent a bolt pattern? Surely the idea of 7 bolts in a 200mm diameter circle isnt that unique?

I'm absolutely not a patent lawyer but it seems like a pretty obvious idea from basic engineering principles that a bigger spider would be stiffer, and there are already several crank BCD designs with various known trade-offs, so this design would be obvious to the "skilled person" who designs this sort of thing for a living. So I doubt it meets threshold for an "inventive step".

This might be too late, but I bought a turntable on ebay that came with one of those plugs. turned out it was from Japan and should have been used with a "200W Step Down Power Voltage Converter Transformer 220V/240V to 110V/120V UKPLUG" - the fact that I just plugged it into a travel converter plug thing appears to have blown the motor and the turntable is now sat on my desk waiting for me to do something with it. Just something to be aware of, the cleverer people on this thread can probably let you know more.

I was given a mini Garmin dash camera for Christmas and would like a neater install solution than the USB to cigarette lighter push in (90's car, no OBD-2 port). It would also be helpful to have a plug in to charge my phone when on the move. I'm going to locate it into the glovebox and join it onto to one of the 12V feeds however i've noticed when i use the wrong household charger for my phone (USBA - USBC instead of USBC - USBC) it doesn't charge. Is there any reason why if i install something like this it won't both provide power for the Garmin and a charge for the Pixel phone?

The one in the link looks a bit shit so if anyone has suggestions for something better quality i'm all ears.

I use a Powerbank (earlier version of this), which has the advantage of continuing to power the dashcam while parked. Easier than finding a 12V wire which is live with the ignition off, extending it to the glove box, drilling holes etc. I get more than 24h of recording from a full charge.

Thanks, I went to get the turntable from on top of a cabinet in the spare bedroom, where it has been for about 18 years and there was a normal plug on it. Presumably I’d chopped the old one off decades ago and forgot about doing it - getting old is shit!

Not strictly the case, a lot of the direct mount chainrings can be made nice and stiff with less weight as they don't need to fuck around joining the spider too the chainring so the material is in the right place rather than making the interface work (although there's in interface in the centre and that's just what the marketing claims).

The advantage of putting the stiffness in the spider is that you can make the wear part from thin flat stock, and you can use steel without a big weight penalty. The Raketa product does nothing the Zipp Vumachrono wasn't doing more than a decade ago, but a "big as possible" 12-bolt PCD and minimalist steel rings would be a greener alternative to all the lavishly shaped direct mount MTB rings we see these days.
