I looked into this and at least in Australia a deore or slx level caliper comes up cheaper than the replacement pistons for four pot brakes

That's a great find! Thank you.

One set with seals is 23 something euro, that's not bad. But also edging on half the price for a new caliper.

Dubious brand name for brake parts :S

Haha! Not like the originals aren't risky, eh?

I stick mine in my back pocket (Humvee) or camelbak. Much less likely to ruin your thighs or phone that way I reckon, especially with my level of ass padding.

Ah, well, looks like you worked it out all on your own. Will continue to patronise though because it's fun.

I had a brainwave about moving the shifter onto the other side of the brake clamp (inwards) to gain more thumb leverage and reduce range of motion.
Another thing crossed my mind last night - what's the name of the electronic shifter that mounts to the chainstay and winds cable? That would be a cool thing to use instead of spunking on Di2 or AXS parts - I could keep my cheap RDs and just fit one of those.

Archer D1X - it is kind of tempting. Electronic 9 speed

Haha.. yeah because I ride my bikes, I don't work on them. It takes quite a lot of pain before I do something about something.
It got a new chain, new RD cable, RD serviced so the clutch works again, hanger straightened, grips shifted (still not happy), levers moved (probs not enough), Wolf Tooth clamp and Postfix appear to be holding the dropper post in position now so that's nice. Saddle position had about 5 adjustments over the weekend and still doesn't feel right.

Only 9S? I have 12 round thingies though. :(
£320 for shifter and remote? Cheaper than SRAM and Di2 thankfully. I quite like the idea.

Also dropped fork pressure to 85psi. I'm wondering about doing what that fast XC WC guy does and running all the volume spacers so I can run the lowest pressure. Since my MTBs are glorified gravel bikes with random big hits it seems to make sense to me to have it cushy for the most part.

The others beat you but that is the one I was thinking about. I can't see where it says 9S but I've not looked much.
"Fully programmable to work with any number of gears on nearly every drivetrain"
Um? Not sure why @jackbepablo mentioned 9sNot sure about its waterproofness though: "If a shifter is completely immersed in water there should not be any water ingress unless the free end of the cable housing (at the derailleur) is also immersed and water is allowed to travel through the housing and into the drive tunnel along the shift cable. The ferrules provided with the kit are double sealed around the shift cable to prevent water from doing this. However water has a way of sneaking in so please take care in extremely wet riding conditions."

I was above average at maths but I think I can make that work :)

Any interest in a pair of lightly used 29er Michelin Wild Enduro's? Front and rear, older version with the white writing rather than the fancy blue and yellow. Great tyres, but the rear doesn't clear my frame and front too tight when running a guard. £25 quid the pair? Collection Kingston/Westminster or a few more quid for postage.

How offroad are these unsealed bits in Swinley? Am I going to wanna kill people if I ride a road bike on them?
Oh really? Good to know. Link me the part pls.
