Steel can actually be repaired to a good level - guess this is a fairly solid argument, particularly for gravel.

New steel is always appealing, then I look at the weight of even a fancy frameset. I do quite like that you can dent steel and it might not kill you.
If I treated a Crux the same way I treated my Stanton, it'd be in about 4 pieces by now.
It depends what riding you're doing. I own and ride everything (except Ti and I'd ride that if I ever saw it cheap enough)
