my problem with the first one (in my head)
Freestanding fridge (again in my had) ruins the 'clean simple' look thats going on
Integrated fridge, big old tall box the first thing as you walk in

We've had a fairly recent run of replacing integrated appliances - freezer, dishwasher, and now in the process of choosing a washing machine.
My overall feeling is integrated appliances should be avoided where ever possible. So much less choice and more expensive.

If you were going to do this
It would be much easier to swap the sides of hob with the sink as pictured, given the cooker is electric and moving water will be costly. Also you'll still be able to look out of the window while doing the dishes, instead of having to clean the cooking fat off windows all the time.

Also keep in mind intergrated fridges have less space inside than stand alone ones, if that matters to you

That's a fridge only.
Here's the design thingy to spec a fridge-freezer.

Being in the space makes things like rooflight positioning so much easier. Knocked pitched roof section Velux quantity down from 3 to 2, saving a ton in materials and labour.

That boxed-in corner thing looks quite a bit larger on the photo than in your plans. Might be significant if you're wanting to squeeze a lot of stuff in along that wall.

Personally, I would do the easy option first and live with it for a bit. Loads of things you think will piss you off in a house are actually fine once you get used to it.
If you like it then you'll save your self a load of money and hassle refitting a whole kitchen and if you don't it's a relatively inexpensive way to find out.

you are correct its slightly off, however it is still big enough to get 4x60cm into

yeah i think i'll start there, we already have an old freestanding fridge freezer in the garage so step one is definitely..
- cutdown worktop on bottom left
- move 40cm cabinet in one to replace the existing 60cm undercounter fridge
- move freestanding fridge into bottom left corner
will work with that.
We've been in the place for ~3 years so we have a fair idea of what we want, but doing it in stages makes sense.
one of our neighbours did very similar to the last pictures i posted which is food for thought on 'opening' the kitchen up but not sure we want that https://www.instagram.com/p/CPHEe7tHTIr/?img_index=2

Seems a shame to change that- especially the sink / looking out the window! Is there anywhere else the f/f could go?

Similar to my place - I put integrated fridge as per your first option, wall cabs down the left - for all the things.. I looked at pretty much all other possible layouts and this hit the spot in terms of most nicest form/function and most cheapest cost.

not really, currently we have a f/f in the garage but the kitchen is a floor above the garage, and 3 doors away, its a PITA

Could you fit a 30x30cm full height cupboard in front of it? We used one in an awkward corner in our kitchen and it'll give you a clean run then.

current thoughts would be if we did go 'full length' removing the end unit to install some shallow shelving along it
its mostly hollow but it has internal guttering/drainage so cant be totally removed

Fair do's it seemed like you'd just moved in and were going to just rip out a tidy looking kitchen. But if you've been living there that long then I understand.

If you're going to refit the whole kitchen and you're not going to have any high cupboards anyway I'd open it up like that, it looks way nicer and will feel so much bigger. Although, I've no idea how you can live with so little cupboard space. I cannot do minimal living!

I'm a real dick on no unnecessary appliances - we also have a utility room for bulk food storage and drinks so that helps a bit
generally we werent looking for a full refit, we definitely want:
- full F/F
- new drawer fronts (plykea or similar)
- new worktop
appliances are all fine otherwise, just thought we would look into any bigger changes now rather than regretting it later
- full F/F

If you have the option to open up to the living space more as per this insta - it does make sense to move to a galley style and push the tall cabinets / fridge to the end wall.

This is the way, I do not follow it.
I think you're approaching it right then, but if you decide you want to move the fridge then it's going to be such a big job that you might as well go full beans. That's with the understanding that you've got the 40k lufguss money gun, obvs ?

Currently procrastinating / waiting for tests to load.
When people do those rear extensions at an angle which way are you meant to do it? Facing north-west or south-west?
