  • Might move this on, frame, fork (carbon as pictured not original/similar), seatpost & headset. Just been stored in my attic for the last 12+ months.

Open to persuasion to keep forever too, wall art?

  • Shes a beauty but they just sell for to damn much these days

  • What size is it?

  • Digging back through @Tallboy threads selling it it was measured at 60x60 back then. I'm 6ft2 so that checks out.

  • 60 c-c surely

  • I'm just being lazy and quoting the old posts, but yes

In case anyone notices further down that page, I did say back then I'd offer to @Tenderloin first if ever I thought about moving it on, and I did message a few days back to honour that.

  • Sorry dude - I invariably miss dms! It’s a no from me. Not bc I don’t want it but bc I already have a couple of wall hangers I don’t ride!

  • If you decide to sell I'd be interested. Let me know if you have more details and a price in mind

  • No worries, most of my bikes are wall hangers at present so I know the feeling.

  • Noted, I have had some dm's too. I will give it more thought.

  • Anxiety: I wouldn't want to flip it on for mega profit given what I paid Oli back then, but similarly do worry I might choose wrong buyer who may flip it on (I read the recent Welwyn Wheelers sale stories).

Maybe there's a middle ground where a chunk of the sale proceeds at closer to (but still under to forum folks) whatever market value is goes to the forum or a charity donation close to the forum?

I dont kow though, other than it is senseless it gathering dust in the loft not bringing joy to someone.

  • What do you reckon you could get for it on eBay for example?
Considering it has been painted and doesn't have the original forks

  • You could get in touch with miclo ?
No doubt he would flip it for crazy money, but at least this would be clear, and you could decide if what he offers is acceptable to you.

  • Maybe what I paid is close to true value then? If someone restored it closer to original that'd take effort and funds, so it'd be worth more as a result.

    I'm over-thinking this I know.

  • I don't know

  • Personally I’d flip it for as much as I could get.

I know the forum is meant to be “mates rates” and all that but making a profit on something you got for a good price and held onto for a long time (and sunk a load of money into?) is no big deal.

Looking at the ad you paid £180 11 years ago?

  • 2nd this. Chuck it on ebay with worldwide shipping, donate 10/20% to the forum and don't overthink it. You'd have much more if you'd bought £180 worth of bitcoin 10 years ago so technically you wasted the money

  • If you sold it now for a couple hundred quid, there is a 0% chance that each successive buyer sells it again for the same. Someone's going to flip it. It will sell for a couple of grand on ebay I've no doubt. Just do it and use the money for yourself.

  • secure the bag imo, make a donation to a good charity if you feel bad

  • Sell it for top dollar!
You've found yourself sitting on something that is worth a good chunk of cash and you've had for over decade. It's not the same as flipping after knowingly buying something cheap.
If you feel morally obliged just pop some money in the LFGSS kitty.

  • This has all kinda still confused things somewhat, although the consensus is clear. Thanks for the advice all.

  • If you're not sure about selling it and don't have the immediate need for cash then you can always hold on to it, I'd be surprised if Cannondale track frames start loosing value.

If you're going to sell it I'd also say sell it for what it's currently worth, regardless of if that's through the forum or elsewhere.

Alternatively you could also auction it off, work out how much you spent on it and start the bidding around that value, then it's out of your hands. Worse case you get what you put into it and someone gets a good deal, best case you get a whole lot for it and then it's up to you what that money is used for.
