At least some of our shoes usually are filthy, but surely its more artisanal to have some mud on your walking boots.
I have size 12 feet and as others have said the flip down locker things don't fit most of my shoes - main advantage of the ladder style is it fits everything and you can see which shows are where at-a-glance.
I am also fine with my home looking like it is actually lived in, so shoes on display doesn't bother me!

Heh- that's what I did to get rid of all the Ikea CD racks
-
• #1405
I'm getting them from the charity shops!

I got rid of the jewel cases, it's amazing how much space that frees up. Not as convenient obviously, but worth it to me.

trust me, me house looks well and truly lived in

Yes, this saves a lot of space. You used to be able to get plain cardboard sleeves (to protect the discs) but nobody rips their own CDs now so stationers may no longer offer them

I got a thousand poly sleeves for about $115, I just file the artwork before it in the coroplast boxes I made.

Some friends have these https://shelvingsystem.co.uk/ which look pretty good and you can spec the sizes and add more as needed

"Think about forgotten spaces - for instance, the normally unused area above the toilet cistern makes a great area to put up CD shelves. Or perhaps you have some space above your kitchen cupboards or fridge where CD shelving could be an asset."
Great advice! (Without sarcasm, actually thanks)

Why €600 less without writings?

Because they disappear anyway?
Hope my dad isn't throwing his out, such a nice chair. Not that comfy though, needs cushions. -

That 7% first order bonus is really going to help me out with that one.

CDs - modded a couple of the tall skinny IKEA racks to go sideways on the wall so 2 units becomes 3 or 4 wide shelves (hung with french cleats and took out the shelves). Not sure why but I prefer them. There was nowhere good to put them tall ways. I thought I'd attempt to get down to 500ish CDs but I concede defeat and need to add more storage somewhere. (It's all straighter than it looks in the photo but I'm sure it's triggering people for plenty of reasons.)
Shoes - I don't have a good solution but don't they end up going mouldy/mildewy without plenty of ventilation? I've got mine on those cheap racks with a couple of battens going across or open slat shelves. I only have 2 pairs of shoes the rest are boots which are a pain to store. I mostly trip over them in the hall...

Annoyingly some kids slime was left on our G-Plan table over night. Initially it looked like it had severely stained.
What I've done:
- scrape off the goop (and some of the finish)
- wipe it with a damp cloth
- apply a big pile of Fuller's Earth (Bentonite)
- hoover off
Now I've got a surface with the finish removed. It is most prominent on the side with the red line where there is a feelable ridge.
What should my next move be?
A light sand to even out the ridge and remove any dirt? Then finish, but with what?
I'm keen to protect it before it gets a nasty stain into the raw wood that will be even harder to remove.

Complete novice and not done or used anything but I did stumble on a video about Howard Restor-A-Finish which looked efficient.

Cheers. I'll have a look. It's a bit over an inch, so Idk if that stuff is more for scratches.

It'll be a laminate. Gilboys have some good products. https://youtu.be/8PAZDRMUgog?si=fn61FgIzP9s0YJe9
Ripping them all and having your music on a Mac Mini or an iPhone.
Then giving them to a charity shop.
