Any interest in a cheap Pashley Front loader?
Trying to cut down on the number of bikes i have

Why would you? Kinda defeats the point

We have been selling quite a few Veloe bikes. They do both Shimano and Bosch versions and we have also retro-fitted some CYC Photon kits to their non-electric model.
Everything about their offering has seemed good so far, accessories maybe a little expensive, but aren't they all!
We always have a non-electric version in stock if you and your partner wanted to come and have a no-strings attached test ride. One thing that might be of interest is that they can come with a quick release adjustable stem and the geometry has allowed us to make them suit couples with more height difference than you and your partner.

Fast commute/cargo monster. I guess the drops would impede the loading area too much.
-
• #12981
Yeah you would only be able to put super low profile stuff on the rack otherwise the drops would hit. Even with risers and a spacer stack I still have issues with not being able to turn the bars all the way fairly often. You could get a steerer extender and have the bars super high, but that would defeat the fast part of the bike
A small wald basket on a road bike would be a better option imo. At least you would be able to stack up the basket without issue

super wide drops and stem like this might be manageable...
I'd still prefer swept bars to give the loading area as much space as possible

So many awesome swept bars these days too.

How does the swytch kit fair with a loaded cargo bike?
I’m endlessly internally debating electrifying my Bullitt with either a Bafang BBS02 or hub motor with torque sensing BB. The only thing that puts me off the Bafang is cadence sensing versus torque sensing.
-
• #12985
Tongsheng TSDZ2 is similar to Bafang but torque sensing
-
• #12986
God yeah I wish I could use a TSDZ2 but from what I’ve read they don’t fit the Bullit without angle grinding the frame.

Its my wife’s bike, she specifically wanted the minimalist ebike setup and we had this in the garage. Personally its great for us (hauling 1 kid or some stuff arround.) wife is in love with it and for context the dealer we got the bike from does all his bullitt conversions with front hubs as he thinks it rides better and feels more like the bike should. We also have a bbs01 on a cargo bike. Also have a long tail with front drive and the fancy bb sensor thing. I really dont get a huge experience difference out of the options. I will say i mostly run them all on like pass1 minimum settings outside of steep stuff. We are in Austria, there are hills and mountains and its all fine. Im considered converting longtail to middrive but im not super psyched on messing with the new bafang canbus stuff but as i have a full setup in a box i may as im a degenerate bike horder and then i can stick the hub setup on something else.

For context i also still ride my over geared stupid track bikes sometimes so maybe im just not as sensitive to it.

If you’ve got the budget, the CYC Photon is by far the best, and I’ve seen them in a Bullitt too. Paradise stock them.

Thanks, the Multi was one option that was evading my memory.

Has anyone ridden a bullitt with the steering damper? Is good?

Not for years but yes. When I worked as a bike courier, we had a fleet of 4 Bullitts, only 1 had a steering damper and that was everyone's favourite to ride. Used to get speed wobble above about 15mph if not loaded on any of the others. The one with the damper was much nicer to ride downhill.

• #12993
Hmm ok, i impulse bought a used one (20$) but the consensus seems to be it is great or it does nothing lol I guess just need to install it and see
-
• #12994
Worth a punt for that price! I should say, my experience probably wasn't a very scientific a-b test. The bike that had the damper fitted was much newer and less ragged than the bikes that didn't.

On Bullit handling - anyone tried the inner hole?
-
• #12996
One came with my Bullitt and I’ve never experience wobble so it’s never been fitted. They get quite strong money second hand so I’m tempted just to sell mine. I do mostly only cycle with toddler weight in the front though, with more load it might be different.
General consensus on the Bullitt Facebook pages etc seems to be that the cane creek Viscoset is the better option.

also curious, there's a facebook group dedicated to the inner hole (LOL)

I've got a steering damper, I think it's good, I still had wheel wobble a couple of times.

IME speed wobble has usually been because I needed to tighten the headset at the handlebar end and induced by going over something bumpy.

The problem is i have been barred from buying more cargo bikes so the only choice is to obsess over accessories, drivetrain and fiddle endlessly with the ones that i have
Not the nicest example
