  • Im quite excited about this mtb but i cant build it atm of course so i made a 3d model. I forgot to mention earlier that i intend to build a rigid fork initially because i'm fairly sure i have everything for a fork already, except maybe the crown race seat. Id like to put squishy fork on but building one will be cheaper for now. Id quite like to do a segmented construction as per the model. In particular with the crown pushed forward a bit. My main problem with rigid steel forks is that often they look a bit funny, where there is an awkward transition from the 44mm head tube to the 28.6mm steerer and fork legs. Pushing the crown forward seems to alleviate that by giving the crown some more width.

The frame should clear 2.5 ish without a yoke, i may use a yoke tho, will see. Id prefer not too i like the bend-less/yoke-less look

  • I see you say you've already got the fork parts but you could always get a tapered steel steerer and make the crown chunkier to match the OD of the HT
