  • ‘Status symbol’ 😷 ew

  • That's just the usual sneering cyclist hate repackaged.

  • Yeah there’s not a lot of room in there. Interested to know how you get on with the speed box

  • its fucking good! does what it says on the box, piss easy to turn on/off. Ideal with arsehole bus drivers around.

  • Morning. Does the Bullitt XL have the same distance for the circular hole mounting points on the frame in the cargo area from the handlebars? Hope that's clear what I mean

Starting to think longer term about transport for my older son who is only 10 but is now just one EU shoe size smaller than me. He is interested in more nerd stuff, that involves traveling longer distances for events, but I'm not getting a car and he usually ends up feeling pukey on public transport. It's already getting a bit tight for him sitting on the regular Bullitt, especially if he's got his winter jacket on.

I have these side impact bars manufactured by @RunRabbitRun and I want to use them again for sure, if I end up getting an XL.

  • Does anyone know what the max rotor sizes are for the original omnium cargo with the horizontal drop outs?

  • front and rear?

  • I’ve got 180s f&r, quite satisfied with stopping power (with 4 pot callipers)

  • ffs; keep an eye out for a gsd r14 without battery and bosch computer

  • why did i think pragmasis chain is good enough for primary security; please don’t repeat my mistake; get a good D lock and a chain

  • 😭 noooo

  • Argh, no! That chain looks chunky too, what diameter links are they?

  • That’s shit, fuckers

  • Yeah. Remember that a 180mm on a 20" front wheel is pretty big.

  • :-(
At that time of the year too...

  • Noooooo!

My heartfelt condolences for your loss

  • ah fuck! well insured I hope?

  • Thanks everyone, devastated, its insured, will look into it tomorrow, was locked at Surrey Quays shopping centre by climbing wall and was stolen while we were inside. From CCTV it looks quite a violent exchange as someone tried to stop them.

I just feel stupid for thinking that the chain was enough. Defo getting that Hiplok next time round.

Child was very sad, my partner was there thank fuck, she took her home while I sorted police etc.

  • Don't feel stupid, but it's always important to be aware that any locking mechanism can be overridden.

Did the person(s) who tried to stop them not stick around? It would have been good to have a witness or witnesses.

Hope the police are more interested than in most bike thefts. Perhaps the footage of the violence will make it more of a priority. Good luck getting it back.

  • :(

    Which pragmasis chain was it?

    Asking cos I’ve got one.

  • Did the person(s) who tried to stop them not stick around? It would have been good to have a witness or witnesses.

I wasnt there, the CCTV footage (which I got described not actually seen because GDPR or something) shows that a deliveroo rider confronted them and was threatened with the angle grinder, he also tried to pull them away holding their backpack and kicked them while they were riding away. Absolute hero, I wouldnt have done all that.

Its not an easy bike to ride without a battery so they wouldnt have gone far unless loaded into a van or something.

Both police (on 101) and shopping centre security people were very helpful.

  • 13mm chain, all it took was cutting 1 link for them. The second lock needs to be a D lock IMO.
