The funniest thing to me is brands like Karhu, ASICS and Saucony pushing out retro models as if they actually had any traction in late 80s 90s casual/ fashion when they had absolutely none.

Just waiting for Travel Fox to come back with the goods and I am golden
-
• #23029
They came back and went away again already courtesy of Sports Direct in 2013

I seem to remember diadora being "OK" in the 80s. But I was young.
Saucony - I like them, but they're not a "terrace" shoe.
Troop.

Diadora runners basked in the halo effect of the Borg Elite tennis shoe which was peak casual.

Yeah, that'll be it. The diadora swoosh is nice and it does look nice on runners, and cycling shoes, but they're not accepted as "good".
Lotto's though.

I mean that says it all.
Sports Direct are a growing business.
While small independents that actually know something are dying out.

Travel Fox are also shit.
-
• #23035
Yeah I remember them being there, got all excited but then saw how shonky they were

Lotto = football boots and that's all

Hardcore proto-casual trainer. These were big in '78-'79. If you were 12.

Yeah but the Busenitz skate shoe was based on the Mondial so there is crossover.

These were next to all the Karhu / Saucony / Asics

"so wipe your lottos on the mat"
"and throw them in the bin" - a line that was missed out of the released version.

• #23043
In the "going in the bin" section?

Diadoras were big in Pakistan in the early 90s

Surprised that Troop haven't been revived. Or maybe they have. I'm very out of touch.

Thanks. They look much the same as I remember ... 😂
I used to suffer plantar fasciitis but treated it with one of these https://www.tptherapy.com/nano-x-foot-roller.html
The plantar tendon is too big and tough to get much release (it’s the thickest tendon in the body) so I was told to put the roller on a couple of foam blocks and then roll the back of my calf to give relief in the foot and Achilles.
