  • The nitto post performs head and shoulders above any single bolt design I've ever ridden. Polished finish looks nicer then the matte black zipp service course.

Results have proven inconclusive due to the fact all I wanted to do was hammer on the pedals standing up and whippp skidding to stop at lights because its wet and its free

  • Quality content 💯

  • great look on the bike, great bike

  • I truly appreciate all of the input.
Hip hop hipster sled thread initially brought me to Lfgss 10 years ago. I've expressed my admiration for many forum bikes and also draw much inspiration from the current projects/bikes and bits sections of the forum. Lfgss has and always will be the main source of fixed gear cycling info/discussion. Fist bumps all around and I hope to stay healthy/fit in order to enjoy this space for many more years to come...

  • After a close call slipping on some black ice, I have concluded that more weight needed to be transferred onto the back wheel. What seemed bothersome was that it didn't even happen through a corner. The back end kicked out standing up trying to get the revs up before a hill. I'm gonna probably keep my ass down for the near future.

You guessed it stem/bar swap.. I've had the pleasure of running aluminum Easton monkey bars... Haven't had the desire for xc monkey lite's that come along with all the pain of running carbon bars

  • With intentions of preserving the seatpost clamp/bolt from wear and tear due to saddle post/swaps, I've purchased a quick release collar... Was pleased with the shape and polished finish which will match better with the black Thomson inline and matte finish on the zipp. Fit perfectly to the frame as expected since the outside diameter was confirmed at the bike shop before ordering... Not so lucky with the inside profile which interferes with inserting the post. Solution is to knock down the lip for clearance.

For the sake of self preservation I decided to run a daytime light. Foggy as F**k out

  • Due to frequent foggy conditions, I've decided to reduce the risk of blending into the haze with adding high visibility decals... It brings more confidence being on the road around cars. It's mostly on the fork tips/crown/seat stays and chain stay

  • Live love laugh thread material>>>

  • Not a lot left to do except ride and replace consumables as they wear out. Home made rear disc cover maybe in the near future but haven't committed to it yet... Updates will be less frequent until weather starts to change for the better.

  • So I pulled out of drilling the seat post clamp for the cinelli and ended up with a black quick release for the Se Ripper. In consultation of the disappointment I stumbled across an slr s1 saddle without the usual hipster tax. The rails on the stripped/trimmed 90's flite titanium after 10years of use eventually bent and the plastic shell has started to crack. Anything more than 10km or beyond an hour of seat time has been a no go for a while. I've replaced it with a flite carbonio and never really fell in love with it. I finally found an S1 with carbon shell and manganese rails to get on with. I've seen older carbon slr xp's cloaked in electric tape and worn seat rail markings for almost double what I paid. Purchased from an older gentleman on market place who bought into the 3d printed Selle saddles... Even though it is marked as a test saddle the rails are mint with all the markings and the white leather cover is immaculately well kept without any scuffs or holes.

  • Having always lusted over visor helmets but not willing to shell out the money's, I stumbled across a fun/practical alternative... It won't keep my skull from cracking upon contact but does well at shielding wind from my eyes. It's also effective at drawing attention of drivers and further declares my love for daft punkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N8hbwKwwnU&pp=ygUSRGFmdCBwdW5rIGZ0IHBhbmRh
.. As an added benefit it keeps the ears/head warm in cold conditions while not overheating because of the open top design and ability to flip the visor up much like a welders mask... 5 Canadian dollars in the clearance bin LoL

  • I love to see smiles on the road cause it feeds the experience. In my recent years I've begun to learn to look around and notice more. It helped me get over cycling burn out. Instead of being so focused on upping average speed, I try to be more present and concentrate on comfort and taking in surroundings. I've observed that the shield is good in flat to low light conditions but today will be the test in Sunlight.

  • Epic stuff

  • Finally had a chance to break in the slr saddle. Didn't take long to get settled on it..

  • Thanks, it's an honor to wear the fixie skidder hat!... And to be mentioned in the same sentence as the chosen one is too much

  • It is indeed starting to get there on my personal journey. There is something quite satisfying tipping up the face shield approaching on a red light pulling a track stand and while rolling out flipping it back down.. I catch construction people on my route grin super hard. I've even got a thumbs up from a pedestrian... Couldn't tell if it was patronizing though.

  • The bike rotation just got lighter with the liquidation of the Se Racing Big Ripper... Followed by unnecessary eBay purchases. Looking at a Chris King headset for the Vig'... Staying motivated to ride more

  • In true fb market place spirit, I travelled 90 min out of my way yesterday for a Chris King headset for the C'nelli.. Gladly the store we decided to meet at in the City (for his convenience) was employed by a bike friend that I had not seen in over a year. We 1st met on group fixed rides im proudly to say probably 10 years ago. He is now a full fledged roadie with a few track bikes.. For the odd alleycat or Fixed group ride.... But I digress. Long story short, the fb seller posted the wrong part set.. Only after my bike friend knocked out the lower cup? Did he find out that it didn't fit. Needless to say I was disappointed.. I have never serviced the headset for the whole lifetime of the build. Just wiped down but never disassembled so it was due for new grease. In doing that he noticed some corrosion inside the frame from being dry fitted when originally built. I'm not impressed and no longer frequent that bike shop for a few years now. So I spent 4 hours before my night shift to get the headset serviced. My faith has been shook. I'm happy to share that an order for njs 51t sg75 gigas chainring was made this weekend.
