Sounds lovely, but definitely only as an interim solution.

I just installed a 9-42 cassette with an RX800/no roadlink and 36/46 Ultegra chainset. Unexpectedly seems to work fine so not sure what to believe anymore.
Plan to move to 38 1x, which still gives a ridiculous range, more than enough for any type of Gravel riding I'll be taking part in. Being fat means I don't really have to pedal downhill anyway.

I roll down hills while my missus has to pedal like mad to keep up. Maybe she needs the road double...

think it is just sram fd. i have 2x di2 and can clear 650b 2.2". haven't tried jumbo 700c though
-
• #28957
Yeah, di2 Ultegra will definitely take a 40 as well; pretty sure someone on this thread (probably hippy) posted about it.

Any bare bones dropper posts out there for the gravel secteur? Gravity dropper looks good but I don't think it's available over here. Don't really need or want a remote, I think a lever on the post itself would suffice.

There’s the Kind Shock ones. They are pretty cheap on aliexpress.
Gravity droppers pop up on eBay every so often, likely to be a bit humped though.

Now, has anyone got a Di2 GRX groupset for sellz?
I have a Dura Ace / XTR 1X Di2 Group for sellz.
Edit: Annnnnnd just seen you want a 2X. You're missing out.
Edit2: Drip feeding this aren't ya. Okay, 1X has potential. My DMs are open. :)

On the lookout for a 650b thru axle dynamo wheelset for bikepacking if anyone has any recommendations or sellz. Would also consider 700c.
It's quite specific so might end up building, or buying a set and rebuilding the front with a dynamo.

• #28965
Thanks but I want Di2 GRX (and I've already ordered a Crux covered in SPAM).
-
• #28966
I have a 650B dynamo front wheel that I was going to rebuild into 700C and then thought "that's a waste of time" so it's still sitting here.

Which bits are DA and which bits are XTR and how much? Probably too much given the DA/XTR stickers.
-
• #28968
That could be great, I'll pm.

• #28969
Is it 12mm thru-axle?
-
• #28970
Um, probably. It was on the Tripster. I think I'd have bought the 12mm and not the 15mm but I can't actually remember, I'd need to look.

I've replied.

I've replied to your reply.

What would folks be thinking as a solid tyre choice for the Dirty Reiver? Obviously it's largely pretty tame terrain, but given the length and remoteness, robustness seems probably the key factor. Pathfinder Pro? Terra Speed? Something as hardy as a Cinturato? For reference I've had a few puncture issues with my Terravails and my current Terreno Wet are (hopefully) way overkill in terms of tread. Thanks.

• #28974
Terreno dry?

The correct answer is whatever is on your wheels at the time of the event.
The hippy answer involves a lot more science and goat sacrifice and will still definitely be the wrong choice.
Why so tiny when it'll do 40?
