Yeah I thought it sounded good! Will add in a brake/gear service so hopefully they feel it's a worthwhile job.

It looks like you're jamming a freewheel tool into a cassette lockring
-
• #119757
And that's bad?
It's the first thing I found in the dark shed by the light of my phone
-
• #119758
It's the wrong tool in an already bad lockring (rust and spline recesses missing)
If you have a freewheel tool, you might as well invest in a cassette tool. I might have a spare one that I can send for the cost of postage -

If it was an emergency a hammer would make it work, but you'll have a fucked tool and fucked lockring.

Do you need to buy a chainwhip anyway or is it an unusual fixed hub?

Could that ever be a DHL tracking number if sent from Germany to the UK?
Googling it suggests it's USPS but seller claims DHL. -

Looks like a postal service (UPU?) tracking number originating in Germany.
Royal Mail says it is in Plymouth North and due for delivery on the 30th. If you haven't got it I'd say it is lost.

Ha! Thank you - can I ask how you searched that? I tried a few combinations but never got past USPS. Unless you just went straight to the RM website and tried there?
-
• #119765
how you searched that?
I didn't. Looks enough like a postal service tracking number that I've seen enough of that I guessed it was RM and tried their website. Next step would have been to try the Deutsche Post website but that is probably encrypted*.

There are sites that are like universal / generic parcel trackers that I use sometimes if I’m not sure what postal service is being used
-

Looks like it is UPU coordinated and they have a global tracker but it isn't very good
https://globaltracktrace.ptc.post/gtt.web/The UPU has some quite interesting history. Parallels between international post, cross charging and how IP routing on the Internet works.

Why does my Genesis Vagabond have two external gear cable guides and two brake cable guides on the down tube. I can’t see any hole for a dropper seatpost cable so I only need two derailleur cables and a brake hose?

hole for a dropper seatpost cable
External cable/hose droppers used to be common, less so now.
It's more likely just that their factory could source 4 way bosses easier than 3 I reckon.

What was the 50% discount code for Rapha that came up in the last few days please?

WINTER
You’re not asking me but neighbourhood of £50 is cheap.
Remove pedals, remove cranks, remove BB, clean threads, install BB, install cranks, install pedals, possibly realign front derailleur and index front gear. Even a simple square taper BB will take £50 of time and wear on several tools.
