  • Pre-sale open now for Underworld at Alexandra Palace (6 April 24) and Aviva Studios Manchester (12 April 24) and general release on Friday. Oldies but still goldies - they were in cracking form at the Marble Factory, Bristol earlier in the year!

  • Cheers. Added to diary.

  • Wanted to go to the Bristol gig but was away, gutted!!

  • Also excited to have got myself a ticket for SLIFT in February sorted today as well.

  • Just snagged mine too. Should be excellent!

  • Went to Bluetones the other night, mainly because I wanted to see friends who were going. Not only was it shite, I wasn't aware until after that Mark Morriss was a gaslighting, wife-beating, groomer. Makes me feel even worse about giving him my money.

  • Yes! Have Underworld in April and Orbital at Barrowland in May doing the Green album and using the old gear allegedly too!

  • Off to see The Soup Dragons on Tuesday, assuming I've shifted this cold I've had for a week. Think it's the pre- I'm Free era stuff, which should be fun.

  • The cold wins, so I've a free ticket going spare if you can work out how to transfer them in Ticketmaster's difficult app.

  • I have a ticket for Elder this Thursday at the Electric Ballroom and I cannot make it. Anyone want it for a forum donation? Just send me a PM.

    (FYI - You'll need a Dice account)

  • Some good moustache + mullet action going on there

  • Quality time at Fucked Up again last night at Camden Underworld. Off! were really good to though never really listen to them so didn't't go in excited but enjoyed their set.

  • Damn. Was very excited about the first live performance from Sault, but £99 for a gig at drumsheds? >>>>>>>>

  • Anyone in here interested in my Bug ft. Flowdan tickets by any chance?

  • That’s mental. No thanks.

  • I’ve seen a few shows at the 02 Arena, it really lacks any sort of atmosphere. Our friends and indeed hosts were racially profiled for security and scrunity around VIP / Corporate credentials, even had one member of staff chase after them up the escalators in pursuit..

However Cypress Hill managed to move the crowd with a mass of hits and DJ/Drummer for mash up solos. And whilst Ice Cube did his best with a clutch of memorable solo and NWA tracks his performance was for me too one dimensional, and could have done with more than just relying on one wing man.

The Game was also a no show.

I’d also say that 50% of the crowd were probably over 50, white, middle class and not from London, typical demographic I suppose.

Nah, closer to 75% would be typical.

  • I saw that and thought "cool", I still have NWA tapes kicking around somewhere. But other than looking like I should be in a metal band playing support or something I'd fit the demo you describe too closely.

  • I was there! Enjoyable night on the whole, Cypress Hill may have been better than Ice Cube, for live energy and classics. It dawned on me that my love of Ice Cube is very narrow (Death Certificate and The Predator from my teenage years) so the vast majority of his set was cool, but unknown to me. Great to see the younger crowd singing along to Cube. Audience demographic was fine.

I tend to wrestle with seeing bands from my youth, what's the point? What am I trying to recreate? How can the artist still have a fraction of the passion they had when they wrote the tunes? I should be in a pub / small venue seeing the next big thing. But still I go, and still it's usually a great time. They'll be dead one day.

  • they’ll be dead one day

this is a valid point.. there are a clutch of artists I missed seeing live, Prince etc..

So seeing Fred Wesley, Herbie Hancock (in their 80s) this year was a blessing fo’sure

I own three solo albums, Amerikkka’s most wanted, Predator and Death Certificate and a couple of EPs.. not sure I need anything else.. still I am glad I saw Ice Cube..

  • Fred Wesley

His passing was very sad, but at least he made peace with Percy before he died.

  • Hip hop and metal band is the perfect combo.. for a live set methinks
