Ah I was hoping you had a load of AXS bits to sell

you can. i run a quarq dfour with 50-34 9100 rings on it. i think 52-36 doesn't work but compact rings do fit. not even an extra spacer required. clearance issue is ofc at the chainstay

Spesh have a history of tight FD clearance on gravely type bikes, see Sequoia with bigger tyres.
Crux are lush though, I miss my old one. -

I've used a 46T big ring on my road bikes for years now anyway so I wasn't super bothered about it. Just what the review said about road rings. Anyone wanting to ride 53/39 should've bought an Aethos anyway.

My missus has a Sequoia. I think the limiter is the chainstay on the inside, not the FD. She can still run a 700x45mm rear though so it's not a big deal. The fork has clearance for days on that though. Think she's got 50mm Ultrabite on it currently

Is that JayP's long thing (mid-tail)? Or is someone else doing that as well now?
Someone else's I guess.

Probably

Would be curious to ride one, but somehow I don't trust the slack front long back thing.

Hairpin turns on singletrack might be a challenge.

The chainring maxes are always conservative. Factor said the biggest combo that would fit on the LS was 50/34, but 52/36 was comfortable in the end. I'd be genuinely surprised if a 50/34 wouldn't fit on a Crux. But if you're using it primarily as a gravel bike, a 48t big ring is likely plenty (unless you have #rocketwatts)

Checkout some of the Lifetime GP setups to see max chainring limits.

OutdoorBros on yt looks to run a pretty big axs combo on his Crux.
-

i think 48t is the absolute max, and is maybe iffy? 44t i think is the stated max which is pretty silly imo.

He was running 50/37 on it this video and suggests swapping to 46/33 because its too high for his puny legs (I'll be running 46/30 because lower is better):

Sounds like something someone with puny legs would say

Anyway, he goes on to say he's running 43mm tyres with fuck all clearance when using an FD. That might be enough for me but we'll see. I like my tyres like I like my mirror - "looking fat!"
