  • I'm also looking to chuck some new rubber on my Tern. What 2.4 options have people seen?

Actually I've just seen the Pickup in 2.6
    Might give that a go

  • I think @amey mentioned the Pickup was the consensus upgrade

No firsthand experience though, they look good on paper. Maybe @Vince has had them.

  • @Philipflop yes I have PickUps and would recommend them.

    Great upgrade

  • Thanks all, Pickups ordered!

  • How are they on regular tarmac? Keep debating if they're worth the investment

I don't think so personally. Cost and annoyance on asphalt negates the advantages. Coming from someone with lots of winter experience.

Something that's good in snow though is necessary for me. Especially when it gets packed. I either go super skinny and cut down to asphalt something fat with knobs.

    Just my opinion

  • Has anyone made / bought a good solution for putting hi-viz flags front and rear on a Bullitt? About to start riding with my new kid in the front and feeling a bit nervy that people might not clock it’s a long boi.

Save me from hours rummaging in the shed faffing with p clips and old tent poles :)

Ideally it’d easily removable when bringing the bike inside or covering. I have old hi-viz jackets I can cut and sew to make the flags themselves.

  • I haven't done it myself but could you use something like an R clip from a VO mudguard to attach to an eyelet somewhere. You could then maybe find a tube/mudguard stay to fit the clip as your flag pole. Could undo it with an allen key in a couple of seconds.

  • Getting some white (front), amber (side) and red (rear) reflectors seems like a smart move as well.

  • Those look like useful - thanks. I've read that kite shops will have good selection of fibreglass poles which might fit in these.

  • Amazing. I'm visualising this stuck on some ally plate and fixed under the saddle. Yes to tape as well.

  • Came home from 2 weeks of fun in the sun to snow and slush, family shopping trip was more exciting than normal

I've done this several times over. There all kinds of adhesive reflective options. My kid hauling bullitt is comically reflective. 3m makes very good options.

I don't know if bookman is available in the UK, but they have really fun options.

  • bookman

Thanks for mentioning this, definitely some fun options

  • Username checks out
Edit - and bookman - wow great stuff

  • Cycled there, walked it back. Could’ve loaded it so it could be ridden home but the kids probably would’ve been sad to be left behind. Was glad of the throttle to get the bastard back up the hills to the house.

  • Living the dream.

  • Regarding Bookman fun reflectors.

I got the dino hanging one for saddle s of my get around bike and my son's bike, got the bluebird hanging one for my wife and daughter bikes

A little gender'y but can't do everything perfectly and it's cute at hell.

This is of course in addition to normal blinkey lights and such.

  • Don't know if anyone else has the canopy for the madjax box but the fact theres no attachments at the back has been a pain the arse, it's usually fine but if there's a decent amount of wind it just blows forward.

I'd been meaning to punch some eyelets to attach kt for a while but forgot about it again during the summer. Had a particularly windy day a week or so ago and that pushed me to finally sort it.

Feels so much more secure now.

  • That thing is Huuuuuuugeeeeeee

  • My thoughts excactly!
I'm ditching the LarryVsHarry canopy, in favor of the folding seat and BBX panels, as soon as the weather turns to spring. Next autumn both kiddos are big enough to just wear rain gear.
(I am on an analogue bullitt so weight is a concern)

  • Ha, it's honestly not as bad as it looks, the kids love it because they love being in tents in general and they can see everywhere. It rides great with it on no problems in headwind plus it has the added bonus of keeping my legs dry in the rain.

I couldn't imaging having a smaller box with two kids, I'm probably gonna get a dog in the next year as well.

  • I just put ski goggles and snow gear on the kids with rain gear.

    🗞️ 📰

  • No totally makes sense. Need to finish making one for my wifes bullett but sh is mostly riding our 3 wheel cargo for better stability with all the snow and ice. Im cutting up an urban arrow one ti fit our custom bullitt slim box.
