Finally started playing Tomb Raider in earnest last night. (GOTY edition, Yamatai storyline). Plays pretty okay as a Steamdeck game.

Just found out the 3 OG Crofty games are getting a remaster, out early next year:

Not sure how I feel about a remaster. It won’t be the same without triangle boob nude mods on the school pc’s.

In one of the early lockdowns I had a great time playing through the first 3 Tomb Raiders that I got super cheap on steam in some Tomb Raider bundle. Think I had to play 1 with keyboard but seem to recall getting a controller working for 2 and 3. I only had Tomb Raider 2 when I was younger and as I was 6 years old I pretty much just ran around the mansion. So it was nice to actually play them properly.

How is it still not coming out until 2025? It had better be good!

I am bad at waiting, I wish they'd announced GTA6 this time next year!

Never really gotten on with a GTA game. Tried 4 cause the story was supposed to be good but it felt very sterile and boring in terms of gameplay. Wonder if anything's changed between that and 6.

For me, 5 was the weakest since they moved to 3D.
Sure it was technically great, lots of detail etc. but I just found it dull. It's the only one since 3 that I haven't revisited.
This looks very much like continuing on the same direction as 5 (which makes sense as they've been able to milk it for a decade or so), but not exactly counting down the days myself.

I'll probably play GTA6 eventually but I never got the hype for 5. Played it when it came out and finished it but barely remember anything about it and then tried it again more recently when it came to GamePass and gave up pretty quickly. Just wasn't very good to me.

It's the world building that Rock Star games manage which make GTA and Red Dead for me. They create these places that feel utterly immersive to me even if a lot of the missions are 'go here, kill this person, collect this item'.
Whenever I went from RDR2 to another other (but equally beautiful) game - Ghost of Tsushima or Witcher 3 or whatever - I really noticed the dip in world building. And it's probably something as daft as Rock Star having the people to be able to animate every blade of grass individually or whatever, but it makes an appreciable difference. Even the weather modules feel realer to me.
I can't wait for GTA 6. Even if it sucks, I love that world.

One short trailer, over a year away, and pretty much every video game outlet has at least 20 articles about it.
I'm sure it'll be a good game, but the next year is going to be insufferable as they drip feed trailers and updates.

The Trailer on the Rockstar Youtube channel had 26 million views after 3 hours.

Yeah popular for sure.
But, went to eurogamer to see about the games show indie thing yesterday, had to scroll past all attached.
Off ONE 90 second trailer...

Gotta drive those clicks! The downside of all this info being free (aside from the cost of having to look at all the advertising) as opposed to having to actually buy the magazines.
Wow, I take it all back. The difficulty certainly ramps up in the special level!
