It was a scruffy low rent industrial area that allowed people to open up scruffy low rent businesses the kind of thing every city actually needs both to function and to provide future jobs.
The welders, carpenters, locksmiths and heating engineers were Socio-Economically cleansed to provide investment opportunities for the already rich. -

You tell Ealing to fuck off. They can only make things worse. It's the same council that was happy to revoke the protected woodland spaces status in the green areas around Hanger Hill.
It's worth nothing that they compare their idea with the Stratford Olympic park. The Stratford Olympic park is not a fucking park. It's a vast amount of tarmac, private dwellings, a shopping centre and a football club.
