If you've not specifically tried to do this you do end up with masses of lines outbound and nothing connected. With a bit of effort it ramps up quick coz it's usually really easy to fill the gaps, at least, nearby. I went from 9x9 with trillions of km to 25 or something just doing some lunch rides and maybe a weekend ride or two.

I think I did 25000km since 2020 and have 5x5 tiles, lol
