You could check rightmove for other houses on your road with the same footprint/layout and see if anyone’s done anything interesting?
Any idea whether the green walls are structural or not? Could be useful to take out these bits on the right to square up the room.
Then for loo potential - worth also thinking about turning that whole side into a utility of sorts, chuck a washing machine in there too? When we got the keys to our place the downstairs loo was right at the back here next to the window, which you could do to then use the understairs part as storage? (he says, having moved said loo under the stairs…)
Ikea or DIY kicthens’ online planners also a good shout for playinf about with cabinet/worktop layouts too.
I'm vaguely thinking about renovating my kitchen, not for a couple of years yet at least though. Any tips for getting ideas in place and starting on the planning? It won't be anything too radical, the bigger jobs will be moving the sink and replacing and changing the layout of the cabinets. I guess the biggest job will be turning the 2, shit bits of storage space circled in to one bigger space, accessed from the hallway. Will either be more useful storage or if funds allow, maybe a downstairs loo (can probably put that off for a while though).
The only similar work I've done before was renovating the bathroom but that was really straightforward and the layout didn't change at all due to the size of the room.
