My 2 slice Dualit has been delivering toast since 1989. Way before the likes of Habitat were selling them. The only maintenance I've done to it is to mount the timer on rubber grommets in a (successful) attempt to get it to stop from resonating through the ally casting and shut the fuck up.
I don't doubt it. Mine came from an era when Dualit were a catering equipment supplier. I think I paid ~£50.00 for it in the late 80's.
ETA - A Rowlett may be a better bet these days.
