Can confirm that I stopped using my park tools one too as it wasn’t very good, often made a hash of outer housing. Bought a much cheaper one from a diy shop that has been great. Doesn’t have the nipple press tho

If you're talking about brake housing, I've found that sidecutters do a better job than cable cutters, because a scissor action inevitably causes muntage while sidecutter blades have a chance of going between the coils (sometimes they don't, but then it's easy to trim off the dag).
