I was almost tempted by RE's a couple times, but they are heavy and the classic style ones generally attract the wrong sort of clientele, like a Leica Rangefinder meet.
RE Himalayan is an odd duck. Lacklustre in almost every way, but if you want that affordable comfortable slow bike that just does what it does - like the person who's worked on checkouts for the last 20 years - it's the bike for you.
I'd definitely consider the Scram version, which does away with all the faux adventure crap in lieu of slightly more attractive scrambler bits.
Talking of scramblers....

Seems like RE’s marketing department are busy right now - Itchy Boots on youtube has also in this exact part of the world on a new/pre-release Himalayan in the past few weeks and months.

411 Himalayan is a great bike.
People always slate them without having ridden one. Power is more than enough on it, torque is great, they off road well, carry luggage well, easy to work on and parts are cheap to replace if needed. Cheap to buy.
Great cross of an adventure bike and trail bike. Good group of people as well. Regular meet ups. I like the new bike, not as much as the original, but it's different to the original and people are annoyed that they won't be running the two bikes together side by side.
I even have an authorised dealer for Royal E nearby, and they do have a loyal following it seems, they just seem a bit ersatz (there is one in Camo which I assume is ironic) or something largely irrelevant. Worried I might look a bit of a twat but that does not usually stop me. Will arrange a test ride. I think you can lower the seat a bit.
