This is planned policy - i used to tender for LA contracts (in social care) and they started adding in specific questions on what voluntary funds you would be bringing in. Our answers generally included a definition of additionality - that if we did add our own, or raised funds then they would cut the contract value further next time so we would not play along.

I'm not sure I can write down my thoughts in more detail, only to share that when the charity I prev worked for starting asking questions about how costs could be recouped by encouraging suggested donations from the beneficiaries of our interventions it was clear the system was breaking imo. This was 10yrs ago.

HS now confirmed as Cleverley
(meant to post in other thread - oh well)

Good riddance to Cruella.
Looking forward to seeing how Cameron handles his relationship with the EU. 7 years down the line and Irish border is still an issue.

“Michael Gove Jostled and Abused by Protestors” proclaims the Mail on Sunday, featuring some good news on its front page for a change
Physical abuse and intimidation of MPs is never good news
It debases those who do it, associates their political opinions with violence, undermining their cause.

Snowy is telling the truth. Fucked up innit.

Even when this sort of things were screamed out, not enough people listened and still voted Tory.
-

Really, as seems ok when the prime minister wanted a member of the press hushed up.
So if he can do it and get away with it...why can't I?
-

seems ok
No one thinks it seems ok

And given two MPs have been murdered in the past ten years, it’s in pretty poor taste.

Nothing happened, bit of bad press then nothing.
So therefore it is acceptable, we (the country) accepted it and by voting for him, in London and the Tory party in his leadership.

Is that linked to my comment?
As I feel there is a link between these events, tho many might say tinfoil hat.

I know, it is bonkers.

Just catching up on today’s shenanigans on C4 news. They opened by saying that Rishi’s green credentials had been under fire recently but today he demonstrated his commitment to recycling.
Laura Trott looks different to how I remember her…

demonstrated his commitment to recycling.
Nice burn

Fetch the fainting couches, someone has made a joke
Personally I couldn’t give a fuck if Michael Gove had an uncomfortable experience, maybe he should try being less of a rubber faced cunt.

Makes me angry/upset/frustrated that this is being allowed.
Maybe those up in arms about a march in defence of forin people should march about this as it is more likely to affect them. -

Even before that, the opened with him humming to himself on the way back into No 10 after resigning

Every cabinet reshuffle essentially puts any internal progress by the civil service back by 3 months as the new person coming in wants to bin whatever their predecessor was doing ("If it's a success then they'll get the credit not me.").

I had the miss fortune of seeing a grainy video of this on social media the night it happened and was surprised it was being described tragic accident. (I assume that’s about as much I should say about my opinion)

And given two MPs have been murdered in the past ten years, it’s in pretty poor taste.
Stopped short of bringing up these two deaths, but yes. Physical intimidation of politicians will only ever degrade political discourse and weaken the democratic process.

Can you describe what you saw? Nothing graphic, but it's all felt a bit confusing following the story then seeing this headline today....

Apparently the accused tried to kick the guy in the chest or something and accidentally slit his throat

There was very pronounced jumping karate style kick, bent leg to straight leg. Very un natural in a normal collision between two players, I know its different rules in hockey, but still.
Also the double whammy of fundraising/expenditure in the current climate where it's harder to raise money while demand increases.
